Pflixbourg Castle in Southern Alsace. Originally built around 1200, this castle was inexplicably abandoned in the 15th century. Archeological excavations have not turned up any evidence of occupancy since then. Most of the castle is heavily overgrown.Chateau du Pflixbourg
