Castle Tioram The ruined Castle Tioram (pronounced Cheerum) is sited on the rocky tidal island Eilean Tioram (the Dry Island) where the waters of Loch Moidart and the river Shiel meet. The castle is closed to visitors but it is possible to visit the island at low tide and look at the castle exterior. Notices warn visitors of the possible danger of falling masonry but it is quite possible to obtain good views of the walls from a safe distance. Click here to view from the water

i like the photo's of  Ogrodzieniec.    Is just me, but i find if  you stare at  the rocks  and  stones  making up  the  walls of the castle  it almost looks  like   there  are  faces  in  them.

On to Wales and away from the creepy Polish castle.  ;)
Coity Castle is another of the Marcher castles established after 1066.
Although originally established soon about 1100, much of the castle dates from the 14th century.

Cesis castle in Latvia. German crusaders known as the Livonian Brothers of the Sword began construction of a castle (Wenden) near the hill fort in 1209. When the castle was enlarged and fortified, it served as the residence for the Order's Master from 1237[citation needed] till 1561, with periodic interruptions.

Today we visit Huys Dever Castle in Holland. Built in 1375 by Reinier De Ever as a moated keep, it eventually fell into ruins centuries later. During the 1970's it was restored and opened to the public in 1978.
Some of the foundations are only outlines raised above ground level.

Castle Kennedy is about three miles west of Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, in south-west Scotland. The estate in which it stands has been owned by the Kennedys since 1482, when John, Lord Kennedy, was appointed keeper by King James IV. In those days, the castle was on an island and the present-day White and Black Lochs (separated by a narrow isthmus) were one area of water. Today the castle and grounds have been groomed into a beautiful garden estate by the Earl and Countess of Stair.
