This is cross posted from the RobinandCompany Yahoo group, where a member wondered about traffic outflow, since they were stuck for several hours exiting TRF this year.

The exit from the Faire parking lot is on Old Potato Road which leads to Highway 290.

The exit from the campgrounds (Participants and Playtron) is where the two large billboards are located.

There is another exit, which is presently used for all entry. It's the "Butterfly Gate". That leads to the perimeter road that also leads to the Participants campgrounds and the behind the scenes areas beyond the wall.

Ahh, I see a point of confusion. By Playtron, I mean the folks who camp with one of the established groups or camp by themselves. I guess Playtron also applies to those who don't camp but come in garb. I'll try to make sure that I refer the camping folks as "Playtron Campers".

So guess the answer to your question is "Yes", there is are separate exit gates for the Faire parking lot and the campgrounds. There will also be other cross roads in the area that would allow emergency vehicles to bypass backed up traffic and get to where they are needed. These emergency roads will be blocked with quickly removable barriers. I'll be posting descriptive signs throughout the area on the Dec. 12 weekend, so folks will more easily understand the layout.

Of course, we have no control on the traffic on Highway 290, but it is a four lane highway, unlike 1774.

Speaking of fire trucks and so on, we were part of the group stuck at TRF for hours upon hours due a an accident and no alternate way out. Will there be two exits for the playtrons, or just one, like TRF?

Peace,
Lady Jari

And, unfortunately the speed limit on Hwy 290 in front of Sherwood Forest Faire is 70 MPH (Daytime & 65 MPH Nighttime).  Might be a bit dangerous turning across or into Highway traffic for Faire-sized crowds, if there isn't some sort of Traffic Control provided by the Sheriff's Office.

We have already filed contract papers with the Bastrop COunty Sheriff's office to handle security and traffic control during faire.
