Let's not forget a record amount raised for RESCU...more than $1600!  Once again I was escorted by Leinad and then...I escorted HIM!  Who'd have thought.

My first game of Musical Men...I wasn't even gonna play...but I Won!

I had another chance to "De-Flower" Biggerstaff!!!  Hanging out at Louis' cart and with the SMASH fellas at their stand.  Watching my daughter be "cute" for the first time EVER!!!  (She's usually the mean character in the cast)

Seeing Bacardi in a PAIR OF SHORTS!!!  That's right, SHORTS!

Capt. Spleen and his NUNSENSE!  Capturing some really interesting faces this year (they'll be online as soon as possible).

Putting Shacles on BLUE.

Getting a rubber duckie from Cutie Patootie (that would be Athena's name for Red Jack)

Throwing axes with Bacardi...we were pretty even.  No winners there but lots of fun.

Escarlata and Leinad's Handfasting,  being honored to carry their ribbon.

Keeping Wenchie from crying during the Handfasting.

Wrecking take 2 of Escarlata's entrance for the videographer.

Surprises - Meeting LJ, Succubus, and Exy at Wal-Mart on arrival Friday morning, and Queen Bonnie at TNRF!

Musical Men...too much there!

Being in the same area as Mad Jack Wolfe an' Cap'n Dungeon Spleen - and the World not coming to an end as we know it!

Double-Barrell Geese (as in MORE than 1 goose!) for Athena an' Wenchie!!!

And screwing up ROYALLY and then getting to redeem myself.

And above all - MORE new friends to LOVE!!!  ;D

Oh yeah, why did there have to be a take 2 at the handfasting?

And that little girl was just too cute.  Yee-HAW!

t' Mikey - A 2nd take was *ahem* attempted because the videographer was unable to capture it the first tyme through... LJ started it by asking Escarlata if she wanted to stop to remove her slippers again (she was still barefoot), then as we entered the ring, yours truly popped off "geez! Am I gonna have t' poke my eyes so I get all teary like last tyme?" and well that pretty much shot that take! HEY ESC!!! I DID SPEAK HEARTFELT WORDS.... I just chose a different tyme to do so.  :D

An Lupa - That's what I always say about going to Faire! I'm off to see my friends - the ones I know and the ones I haven't met yet!

- arriving at 4am to a bleary-eyed LJ who half-swaggered and half-staggered to let me into my room.

- starting out Saturday in Masque... and having several friends not recognize me!

- "The Four Horsemen Stage Show"

- finding out my cape can do the cool "Batman" thing when a lady needs privacy  :o

- having the same cape used as a backdrop for photos!

- joining Clan McCrack

- pinning Erik the Green as a Rogue

- how the gang pulled together when that kid went missing

you know, there were so many great moments but truthfully... the best part was seeing so many old friends again, getting to spend more time with them, and meeting some for the first time.  the best part of any invasion is... well... the invaders!

Much as I enjoy simply seeing all my renfriends so hale and hearty (and many in beautiful new garb  ;D), there were a couple of stand-outs this year.

Meeting Queen Bonnie really made faire for me this year. It was a WONDERFUL surprise to run into her while waiting for the auction to begin. Truly magical. Thanks for making the trip, Queen Bonnie.

Hugs with John. Little was said but much remembered about the growth of this site and the changes it's been through.

FINALLY meeting Sir Jess Lady Knight. Sheesh, she lives in the same state and has been at faire the same days as me for the past two years but we never managed to run into each other! It was wonderful to hear how she's doing and her plans for the future.

Escarlata bringing me and Lady Nicolette a cactus she had planted in the Healing Place on the old site.

Combined, these brief exchanges gave me a strong feeling of being part of the R/F family.  :-*

The handfasting was lovely. Seeing Escarlata in scarlet.  ;D  The hush as we awaited her arrival (from a group not known for hushing) said much about people's anticipation and respect. Did anyone else see the hawk that breezed over during the ceremony--or was I hallucinating? I thank Esc and Leinad for allowing us all to attend.

The ette/teer auction. The pythonesque squeaky-voiced, habit-wearing mystery bidder for the queen adding spam to his bids. The intense bidding for the queen. The bids for $69 and $34.50 for/from ettes/teers.  :D

All in all, an experience that was more than faire. Huge thanks to our hosts and to all who made the effort to attend.

That was unforgettable! She looked so beautiful, and I started getting all teary eyed.

Another favorite moment was when Old Tinker and Belle finally met Queen Bonnie. Also, proudly wearing Bonnie's favor, a tribute to Lord A. It's true that the Magick never dies, and it was everywhere last weekend!
