I can hardly contain my excitement that the Great Northern Medieval Fayre will be happening this summer.  The Fayre is only about 20 minutes away from our place (near Collingwood) and hubby and I are making plans to participate.  Now I have so many plans, product  and preparations to get ready in just 5 months.  Garb and product and camping and feasting....oh my!  If the vending goes well at this first one, then we should be able to participate in many others.

Help me keep the excitement going!  Are there any other dates already slated for the Ontario faires?  I would love to be able to hand a list of dates I want off when I start working again in April.

In the meantime, the winter will fly by now that I have something to plan for.  Keep warm everyone!

What are the dates of this faire? I would like to attend!

Me too!! I am very excited that it's so close (I am just north of Toronto).  This will only be the second faire I've ever attended, but I am really looking forward to it.

A quick question for you though, since you live in the area.... how close is Cranberry Resort to the faire grounds?  That is where we are thinking of staying (making a week long vacation out of it) so I was just wondering. :)

Thanks for that, Lady Juliana.  I want to get a list of dates to my chef as soon as I can so that we can negotiate the time off that I want to see as many faires as possible.  I have already found out that my excitement for this faire is going to be curtailed by a heavy work schedule.  My chef was asked by the organizers to cater the pig roast for that weekend but dates don't work out and I will be working the already scheduled event.  I will be there as much as possible though and the rest of the family will be participating as well.

Aelynn...  that is wonderful that you want to attend.  Cranberry Resort is not too far away...half hour drive right through the town of Collingwood.  There is a lot to see and do in the area if you plan to stay a week too.  Send me a message if you want more specific information since I am/have been involved in tourism in the area.

Hello to the Pickle Guy!!!

Do you know if you will be at this faire near Collingwood or the one in Milton?

kainar

With luck the pickle guy will be at both shows, Mayhap the Collingwood show will have a pickle apprentice.

I can hardly wait for the Country Renaissance Festival and the Pirate Festival.  Though once again I'll be missing the Renaissance Festival at Casa Loma due to a little trip that weekend.  I really like the setting of it.

Only two months to go until we can go to faire!!!  I hope to pull out the garb and work on it sometime this week before I get back to working.

Unfortunately though, we will not be able to commit to vending at this faire due to family health matters but we will attend as much as we can.  I can make no commitments at this time other than my family and work schedule but we hope to attend as many faires across Ontario as possible.

Looking forward to making more new friends this summer.  If anyone needs tourism information for the area, please let me know.

Tchuss!

Up at the top of the page there is a "Chat" button. The page address is http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/chat/

Every time I've gone on there's nobody there.

We had quite the group in there tonight! It was nice to chat in "real-time" with everyone...
I can tell I'm going to have FUN at faire!  Wish I could afford to go them all!!!!!! :D

The middle of the week in the evening seems to be the time when the most people are in the chat room.  What a fun bunch last night...we broke the record and had 9 in at once.  Come join us!

Huzzah!!!!  Fayre is finally here!!!!  It has been such a  looooooooooooooooooong winter.

Our family will be there...our son and his girlfriend are volunteering all four days and I will be there on Thursday and Friday.  Sadly, no pretzels this time to sell.  Mundane life is far too busy at this time of the year.  I will be working on Saturday doing a wedding but hopefully, if I have the energy, I will attend first thing Sunday morning before going to work for noon.

The kids are out shopping for garb and everyone is soooooo excited.  It is a large venue and it sounds like there are lots of activities and events to see and do.  We also look forward to meeting new faire friends.  See you there!

If anyone needs directions or info about the area, I will try to help.
