This applies to vendors/performers/support staff/faire workers, jointly called Participants.

Please forward to your fellow folks who are not a member of this group.

I am getting numerous questions on my Camping@sherwoodforestfaire.com email account, most of them having the same questions. So, in the interest of getting the word out, here's a summary:

Electricity on the campgrounds: There are presently six groups who have electrical supply included in their contracts. The electrical lines installed in the campgrounds along the upper access road will support only these six groups. Any additional loads will trip the supply and cause problems for those folks who need the power for health reasons. The six groups will have their campsites identified as authorized to plug into the power supply. No one else is to plug into the power source.

Large RV's/travel trailers: As most discover when they first look over the campgrounds, the soil is best described as loose sand. It's doubtful that a large RV/travel trailer could safely get in and out of the interior areas. Some folks have been parking their vehicles along the upper access road (on the left-hand side) and will have to move them as this blocks the new admin area. There is a gravel area by the admin building (where my travel trailer is presently located). I will be moving my trailer out this weekend so that I can dump the tanks at Lake Bastrop and then park it behind my Son's booth. This will open up a 30ft area for another RV/trailer. I recommend that folks bringing in RV/Trailers park them in this area weed puller-end first (rear end hanging out over the sandy area). That way we can get more vehicles in the area.

Generators in the campgrounds: In order to maintain the "period" feeling within the Faire area, there shouldn't be any generator noise heard within the Faire. So, if you have a noisy generator, it must be off during the day, or you must be parked far,far from the Faire fence.

Interior area (mentioned above for RVs/large trailers): A fellow Participant has volunteered the use of his bulldozer to clear some of the areas and level out the bumps, plus pack the soil. THANK YOU TOM!!. We are also trying to drive as much as possible over the area in our utility vehicles. Two weeks ago, I brought my golf cart utility vehicle onsite to help me get around. My Son informed me that the first annual Sherwood Forest utility vehicle race was held that weekend (after I had left). He didn't mention how the race turned out.

Day-trippers: These are the booth workers, performers, support staff, clean-up crew, etc. who are needed to make everything work. They come out in the morning and leave each day when the Faire closes. They will have to park along the road by the old admin building (lower access road). Please do not setup a camp here, as it is about the only firm soil for vehicle parking.

Camping along the Faire fence: Presently there are a couple of tents setup within 30 ft of the fence. These will have to move immediately. The boundary is marked in red flags and barrier tape.

Camping near the pond: There is a no camping beyond this point sign near the pond. There is no camping or parking beyond this point on the pond side of the road.

Camping behind booths: I only manage to campgrounds, but the guidance is that any RV/Trailer/tent behind a booth must not be visible from the Faire area.

Parking behind booths: Depending on the size of your booth, probably only a few vehicles can park behind your booth. The rest will have to park outside the Faire area (see Day-trippers). Worst yet are the booths that are interior to the Faire area, so that everyone will have to camp and park in the Participants campgrounds.

Participants restrooms/showers: There will be port-a-johns at various areas within the Faire area. There will also be a flushy toilet trailer down by the Vineyard Stage. During the day, Participants have access to all the facilities. After the Faire closes each evening, Participants will still be able to access the facilities. There will also be a shower trailer by the Vineyard Stage that is only accessible from the Participants campgrounds. Use all with the consideration that if they get trashed, they will go away.

If I missed something, please let me know, either by email or meeting with me during the coming weekends before opening.

Hehe, the software changed my " A S S - E N D" to weed-puller end.

Love those PC post editors.
