by the way, we will be returning to your faire Columbus day weekend for all 3 days - really liked your shire!

what is your home faire, and second off, that is my weekend i come in too!!! i would say how much i like my home faire, but i think that is pretty much universally true of all of us rennies!! we will have to meet up and say hello, do you wear the groovy R/F pin?

Butch

OK, that means that I'll have to be there too Columbus Day weekend.

Our home faire is Minnesota, but we have been adopted by Colorado, becoming the "Nontourage" with the group that Butch met.  Columbus day weekend we will be accompanied for sure by the Baron and Baroness, and hopefully all the others.

i guess i shouldnt throw stones since i dont do garb anymore. although i have always thought about starting again. anyways, i dont mind others who dont do garb either, but what my pet peeve has always been those who come to faire wearing NFL football stuff and jerseys. GET A CLUE!!! at least i wear a renfest sweatshirt!!!!  i was always shocked KCRF didnt do something with regards to showing chiefs games somewhere in the 90's when they were a winning team. not that i would want them too.

I always like to pull their tails about the team that they are wearing. Its funnier than hell to watch the looks on thier faces when they see a little flower wench talking football

Well, we'll see who comes with us this year.  I just retired from the Marines, so we probably won't have a group singing "Don't Forget Your Old Shipmate!" again this year.  At least some Frenchie with blue hair will be staggering around!

At Sherwood, I was expecting questions about ears, but instead I actually got the following this weekend:

"What type of orc are you?"

My response was "An orc would be saying, 'mirdautas vras' right now and jumping in the fray.  They tend to view men as more of items for their larder than for conversation."

"I've not seen this type of troll before."  (Was too busy to respond.)

I have a puppet "Overly Familiar" Siamese cat. A kid asked me if it was real!
I replied - "Of course he is real- but he has been enchanted to look like a puppet!" LOL!
Wingardium Leviosa!
Tis not the length of the staff- but the magick there in!

My favourite answer when people ask my if my shoulder puppet (a dragon) is real, is "What dragon?"

We get this several times a day , at Faire.

"Look, a pirate!" or "Oh look, pirates!"

to which the only possible response is "GOOD LORD, where??"

LadyElizabeth

So this past weekend I was reminded of one of the #1 questions asked when I play Queen Elizabeth....

"How long did it take for you to do your hair?"

And honestly it just only takes like 15 min or so, not bad at all, so I never have a pithy response...  and it gets very very annoying and just OLD!!!  I think I had at least 10 people ask me it alone last weekend!!

The newest one I've been getting are "Are you a vampire?" or "Oh, look, a vampire!"
It's kind of getting irritating because there's nothing terribly vampire-like about me, aside from my being Hungarian in real life (You know Bela Lugosi and all that!).
Once someone answer for me, saying that they were wrong, I was a dominatrix. That cracked me up and I usually use that as a relpy now, unless children as, in which case I just smile and say no, I'm really not.
