The camp grounds should be a big draw for SWFF compared to Scarby.  Someone at another forum was asking about it, and I linked to it only to find out they had completely redone their web site.  It no longer has that funky, unique look to it.  Here's what's sad.  You go here first - http://www.srfestival.com/ and hover over Information Boothe and click on FAQs.  It takes you there, where you can click on Hotels, Motels, and Campsites?  You go there, and you click on the area lodging page link - and there's no information about camping whatsoever.  You're on your own.  I know you have said that Scarby has become commercialized over the years, but the web site redesign and the less personal touch just took it up another notch.

Scarby would not be a draw for the campers, at least it would not be drawing campers in for that reason.  I like the fact that you have to drive for many miles before you see anything like a Chili's (does Paige or McDade even have them?).  You can see that the people in the Austin area are different from the people in the DFW area.

Whatever you do, do not become Scarby II.  The day that happens is the day I look over the news about México and decide if it has stabilized enough to move down there. :sobrero:
