Washington Renaissance Festival?

Does anyone know what's going on with the Washington Renaissance Festival?  I went to the website today to check when the dates were, and it appears to still show the 2009 stuff, with a cryptic note about a "hostile takeover" and something about not taking any legal action until after the 2010 show.

So, there is or isn't a 2010 faire?  If there is, it would appear to not be run by people it has been, but I'm not finding anything on the web about any 2010 faires in western WA.

Maybe this is bad of me, but I don't really care who runs the fest.  I just want to get to go to a faire this year.  Anybody have any idea what's going on???

Thank you! :)

Out of curiosity, do you know what IS going on with the faire management?  Not that it really matters, I guess, if the faire is still good, I'm just wondering.

I do.  The owner of the Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire made some unfortunate financial decisions AND didn't get his permits on time (connected) so there was no faire in 2008.  In 2009 the Washington Renaissance Arts and Education Society (a non-profit) licensed the name from him and put on the faire at Maris Farms in Buckley.  This year he refused to license the name and insisted that the non-profit turn all monies over to him for him to put on the faire.  The non-profit consulted with their lawyer and ended up registering a new trade name "Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire" and running the faire under that name.  The management is the same as last year and so is the site.  Many people that left because they were unable to work with the previous owner have returned.  It looks to be a great faire!

Thanks!

Glad to hear it should be good.  I haven't been able to attend since 2007, so I am really looking forward to being able to go again this year.
