After many hours of work and not a little frustration (including purchasing the wrong length of boning...twice), I present to you-- (drumroll please...)

The first corset I've ever made! Please excuse the fact that I haven't worn makeup in easily a week.

I did a cream-colored canvas-type fabric for the lining, an olive colored...God, I have no idea what it is...and then a cream lace over the olive whatever. The overskirt is going to be in that same olive, but without the lace, so it should bring out the green a little more.

The front:

And some little thumbs of the back and side, since they're less important:

It won't be laced in black, those are the laces from a corset I bought a year or so ago. I'll have a wine-colored chiffon chemise (try saying that ten times fast) underneath, with the olive overskirt I mentioned before, so really the corset is the only important part here, I just didn't want it to feel out-of-place with jeans. ;D

That looks great! You really did a good job. Wish mine had turned out that well the first time.... or even the second time  ;)

Thank you guys so much! I made my own pattern based off of a corset I bought secondhand like...four years ago or something, so I had the benefit of knowing it would fit me. Which may have been cheating, so don't be too impressed. ;D

Well done!!!

My first corset, made 8 years ago and still worn, needs to be replaced. I am inspired to make another one before September.

Very nice! :)

Also, I fail at reading this morning.  I was going to ask you how it was going to close in back, since you said it wouldn't be laced there...and then I re-read it and saw you actually said "black."  :)
