There is a restaurant in Burlingame, CA that is a reservations only establishment.

Thanksgiving 2002, while assigned to the Bay Area with DHS, I took the gf at the time out to eat.  Not knowing it required reservations, we walked in and asked for a seat.  They declined at first.  Once they found out I was DHS, we had our drinks comp'ed, a table for two in a private section, a personal waitress, and a few other ammenities.  The ticket was for over $800, but they only charged me $150.  Still the highest 2-person meal ever.

I recently took the fiance, her daughter, her parents, her brother and his boyfriend, her sister and her boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend, and my parents to an Irish Pub for Mothers' Day.  Cost $130.  Worth every penny!

My most expensive would have to be at Primavista. My now husband took me there to propose to me. Ended up at about $150 for the two of us.

This place wouldn't be by any chance called the "British Bankers Club" would it?

No.  It was Gulliver's or similar.  Just up the street from some elephant bar.
