Moresca Max 2 bodice strap issues

   I love my new Max 2 with the exception of the straps.  They are still about 1-2" too long and tend to slip off my shoulders, even though they are laced all the way closed.  I want to avoid pinning them in place.
   Any tips to fix this?  I don't have this problem with my regular Max, which laces the same way and fits fine.

I know some people cross the straps in the back on the pirate bodices.  You could maybe try that on the max 2 also.

    I also thought that I might try using some of my bodice jewelry to pin one end further down inside the bodice, rather than try to stick it down on top of my shoulders.

    Updat:  Moresca customer service got back to me and offered to send shorter ones or to shorten these for me.  Great folks!

Of course you could just go with it. If you don't need the support let the straps fall off the shoulder much as they show on their site with a big poofy chemise beneath. With the right outffit it's a cute look.

Moresca says they would have to make me a new set of straps, and since those would be 'custom'.  they would cost me another $25.   I now have a few much cheaper options. I'm thinking I could even pad the inside top of the blouse sleeves a little bit to keep the straps on top of my shoulders....my civil war dresses have a little fan of buckram sewn inside the tops of the leg 'o mutton sleeves to keep them fluffed. Maybe something along that line.....

Along the same lines, can you just make new eyelets a little higher up on the straps (front and back) and tighten them that way? Since they tie front and back, you won't have to make one extreme alteration that would interfere with the shoulder rolls.

Another option... can you sew a tiny little dart at the top of the shoulder that would be hidden by the shoulder roll?

Hmmm. I'm not sure I could really do darts, since the material is so darn thick.  I'm also chicken about making any invasive alterations to the straps like new eyelets (which would probably be the easiest thing for a novice like myself).
  Moresca said that entirely new straps would need to be made to keep the correct 'look' and proportions.  They would not do alterations on the existing straps.
   I'm going to see if pinning with jewelry will work.  Thankfully the side lacings are tight enough that I don't need the straps for support. Thanks for the suggestions!

  OK. So now I have my heart fixed on pinning the straps down inside the bodice using jeweled pins pushed through from the outside (if you can visualize that. So...I headed over to my favorite store for over the top bling (Gordman's) which has always offered a fine selection of oversized, glitzy and frequently medieval looking broaches that have served wonderfully on my pirate hats....... 
   There is not a single broach in theentire store!
  Necklaces, bracelets, earrings (none large or non modern enough for my needs) and watches galore.  But nary a pin or broach in sight!
  What is the world coming to. 
  I don't have two matching broaches in my entire (considerable) collection. 
   Suggestions!

Do you have Younkers Dept. Store anywhere near you?  Or JC Penneys?  I have found both of them sell brooches on sale in the $6-7 price range.  I know someone who buys several of them at a time and uses them on hats along with feathers.

If you find a pair of earrings that you like you could snip off the earring posts and glue on a pin back.

You might look for rhinestone buttons at the fabric store, also.  You can always put a pin back on them, and you wouldn't have any problems finding them in a set, either!

  Thanks for all the suggestions! I was able to get Sapphire and Sage to make me a set of custom single stone broaches with single pearl drops for 24$ including shipping.   She says she can get them to me by Labor day!  Woot.
   JCPennys has some lovely pearls.  I got those too...
