Ugh, need a nudge!

I am still recovering from the mad dash to finish up the Much Ado garb in time for last weekend (9/11; pictures coming soon--promise!). I've had all week to work on my curved-front linen gown and Milord's Gimli tunic, but I can't seem to spur myself into action... and, worse, I feel stupid. Apparently even five days off is enough for that spark of understanding to slip out of my brain. LOL

Curved front dress

Everything is ready; I've finished the corded flatlining, and the fit is 97% there. I need to trim off the larger seam allowances I put in, expecting the cording to make it a little smaller (it didn't!), and I'm trying to decide if I want to make it just a teensy bit more snug. I think my delay is telling me that, yes, I really do. So I need to figure out how to do that (and it will probably involve taking out one row of cording).

I need to cut out my bias strips. I bought a new ruler for this yesterday. Everything's ready.

I need to cut out my lining fabric. That's ready (well, OK, I need to iron it)! And I need to cut the coral linen for the bodice, and then put the d@mn thing together, already!

Gimli Tunic
This is not so ready. I need to dig out everything I've already done, and look at the patterns again. I've decided to use another of Milord's doublets for the pattern for the back, since it already fits him well over shirts (which the Simplicity LOTR pattern did not), and maybe look at his Sophie's surcoat and decide if I just want to copy that instead. A pattern for a tunic should not be this difficult! Once I have the pattern, it's like two or three pieces to sew together, and that should take, what, a day? Sheesh.

Nudge away, gentles! Get me back on track!!  Milord and I celebrate our anniversary on 9/21, and I'd really like to have Gimli well in hand by then, if not finished.

*nudge nudge nudge* Here is a list Gem to get you started.  ;)

Step 1: Take out all the Gimli stuff and arrange it in a neat pile.

Step 2: Stare at it.

Step 3: Iron your lining fabric.

Step 4: Realize you have the iron out and might as well make the bias tape.

Step 5: Feel guilty for not working on Gimli

Step 6: Have a cookie.

Step 7: Realize you just knocked 2 and a half things off your list.

Thanks!!

CS, I *love* your list (and it was a lot like the one I was making in my head).

--Gimli has been gotten out, gone over, and tried on again. Confusingly, the mockup that was too small before now seems to fit. Clearly, more glaring is in order -->  >:(

--Linen for CF gown, lining, and bias trim has been ironed. Two 20" squares of dark brown have been cut for bias, and one has been marked (put on hold when a dog lay down on top of it. No, not Auryn's.)

--Innards of CF gown have been tried on again, and I have DEFINITIVELY decided NOT to do any more fitting on it. It could be snugger, but I don't know WHERE. There are no wrinkles or drag lines anywhere, seams are straight, there's practically no ease anywhere, and centers hit properly. Anything I do at this point would distort all of that, so I'm just forging ahead!  I've cut off the excess seam allowances, unbasted it, and removed the temp. lacing strips. It's now ready to become a pattern, as soon as I have time to cut fabric out.
