What weird news stories make you either laugh out loud, or just say "huh?'

I have heard of home owners associations raising a ruckus over how some people's yards are land scaped , or some ornament that has been put there , but never a city.

I knew there was a case a while back where a guy in texas cultivated his front yard so it had blue bells, and other protected wild flowers, and used native grasses.  Because his lawn was done with 'special' flowers he couldn't legally mow his front lawn or be arrested.  Very odd case, but nothing like what this lady is facing.

Some places are a lot stricter than others, but believe it or not, in some areas, there is even a minimum percentage of your front yard that must be grass...the non-intoxicating variety. It can be ridiculous at times. Subdivisions in my neck of the woods (literally) are not allowed to have chain-link fences. Only wrought iron or wooden fences are permitted. What really blows is that there is no requirement for keeping your wooden fence in good repair, consequently, you'll see them with slats missing, support posts missing, or whole sections missing, yet they will cite you for having non-cultivars in excess of 6 inches in height.

Seriously this dude needs to be removed from 'office'.
When her case goes to trial the judge should toss it out immediately and force this ding bat to personally pay all her legal fees, pay back the city's fees for undertaking this madness and then fire him.
People like this guy who have a power complex are whats wrong with this country- good grief.

If I were her neighbor I would have already planted my entire front lawn full of vegetable boxes.
Since his defense is that its not 'suitable' because noone else is doing it, if half of the neighborhood has vegetable boxes he can stick his excuse up his nose.

I like the comment one woman made: "Can't we just let little girls be little?", kinda puts it in a nutshell. 
  I noticed there were a few 'Commandos of the La Leche League' out there warning folks not to say anything negative about this doll.  Heaven forbid that common sense should get in the way of being PC .
