So, on Thursday (23-Sep-10) I was following a rabbit-trail on the Internet, and ended up on the web site of Katie McMahon (Soprano soloist with AnĂșna and the original Riverdance), and found that she has some upcoming Christmas, and other, shows in Minnesota.  On the "Reviews" page, there's a link to an article from last Fall that talks a bit about the Christmas Show (WomenInc Magazine - Soaring Soprano).

I sent her an email, and asked if she ever made it as far South as Houston with her Christmas Show.  She replied back Thursday afternoon,
"... The farthest south we've brought the Christmas show is North Carolina. We'd love to play in TX, but it's a largish and expensive show, so getting us down there can incur quite a cost.

However, if you know a suitable venue. We usually play 500-1000 seater performing arts centers/theaters, who would be interested in having us come and play, please pass the info on to me. ...
"

Doing a bit of Googling, I found a few concert halls that might fit the requirements --- at the Hobby Center, there's the 500 seat Zilkha Hall and the 2,650 seat Sarofim Hall, while at the University of Houston, there's the 800 seat Moores Opera House.

When I emailed her those links, she asked if I knew anyone who works at booking for those venues.  I don't know anyone myself, so I'm asking here if anyone on the Forum knows someone who does booking for those three venues, or any other Concert/Performance Venues here in Houston?

Thanks for any help in getting Katie's show to Houston,
David Baldock

Are you looking for a 3rd party Events Production Company, or are you trying to find out if anybody knows the in-house staff?

Well, her email said,
"... I'll check out that info you sent me.

If you happen to know anyone personally who works at booking those venues please pass that info along too. It always helps.

Who knows. We may get there yet for Christmas 2011
  :)  ..."

So, I suppose knowing an in-house booking person might be the most beneficial.  But if a 3rd party Events Production (Booking) Company would be willing to work with Katie to get her Christmas Show into a Houston performance venue, that would be good, too.

BTW: Here's a YouTube link to Katie singing lead on "Home and the Heartland" from Riverdance (1995).

I own an events planning company, and we have had concerts as a smaller part of our events.  We don't typically do events this small (15k attendees is our smallest so far), but the economy has cut down on the number of big events across the country, so it's a good idea to keep options open.

If booking Katie's 2011 Christmas Show into Houston next Fall sounds interesting to you, her phone number and email address are on her web site.

It would be great if you can work something out with her!
