Fabric belt knotted with a "flower"--how to do this??

My first faire was Bristol around 15 years ago.  At that faire my mom purchased an outfit for me -- a green chemise, an underskirt, a bodice and a belt that was a long thin piece of cotton gauze fabric.  When the ladies at the vendor helped me into the outfit they tied the belt with a really cool knot that looked like a flower.  I didn't see how it was done and have no clue how to redo.  Now I'm (mostly) grown up and live in MD so I have an awesome faire to go to.  I'd like to figure out how to make the flower knot, but haven't found anyone that knows. Does anyone have any ideas?  I've been trying to figure it out on and off for years!

That knot is cool looking, but it's not what I was looking for. I've been trying to figure out how to describe the knot....I called it a flower since that is what the lady at the faire said when she made it. The belt is about 9 feet long and 3 inches wide. It's that crinkly cotton gauze and tapered to points on each end. Baby-locked all the way around. When the ladies at Bristol tied the knot it looked kinda like a rose, not the sharp pointy petal ones but the soft fluffy edged ones. The flower part of the belt was stable and didn't come loose, even with a younger teenager running around. I would post a picture, if I could find one, since I can't figure out how to described it.

I'm guessing you might have a Heart's Delight belt, they typically have theirs done in that kind of a finial...Their website is under construction, but you can call them or e-mail them, they might have something they can send you or describe how to do that.

I can't see the belt in that photo well enough, but I *can* tell you that you're definitely wearing a Heart's Delight chemise, as Lady Nicolette predicted. Good luck getting more information from them!

Thanks for IDing the dress!! I did email Heart's Delight so hopefully someone there will know about the belt thingy.  I am trying to find more pictures of me in the grab to see if any show the belt better.

Here's your image, at least, although I can't really see the knot very well, either.  It looks a bit like the knot that was tied around one of my chemises when I bought it, though, and seems like it was just the ends of the belt twisted until they tried to curl back on themselves, then twined together, and finally wrapped around a central point beginning closest to the body until the entire length was coiled in a rose-like spiral, and tucked under one loop to hide the "tail".  If that made any sense at all...

It's very similar to what you described, only my tails were left free and ended at different lengths. I will be playing with the twisting then wrapping around and tucking under to lock it...the test one I just did reading your description is almost what I remember, but smaller and "off" in some way but that could be me.  Thanks a lot...since we won't be able to make it to MDRF again this year I have time to play with it!!

That's the only photo I have. I've tried to enlarge the belt "flower" but it just gets really fuzzy. My photo editing software isn't up to the task.
