Memory foam pillows turn into rocks in cold weather.

No matter how many layers of blankets/sleeping bags/clothes you have under you, over you, and on you, its still extremely difficult to stay warm in 35 degree weather.

There are some people in the campgrounds who think they own the place and can push around whoever they like.

You can wander the grounds all day and not run into a single member of this forum.   :P  (Actually, I have to correct myself, Martin found us!)

Someday, I HAVE to meet you. After three years, I still haven't met you. We're gonna make it happen eventually!
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

Molden

If a lass forewarns you on a Sunday at Faire that she's not had a shower, it's best not to proceed in nibblin' her neck.

Amazingly, "How I got to Wal-Mart" is a Homeric Epic Poem (and just as looooong!)

Rennies are generous and giving folk - if your hands are empty on campgrounds, it's your own fault

It is possible to get a standing ovation when you emerge from "someone's" tent

"Cajun roulette" involves several sweet bottles of Loki and one bottle of moonshine

If y' drink from William the Traveler's flask of EverCrown - 'tis best t' fake th' first swig and modestly sip th' second (he insists "always two"!)

Sometymes you can wake up with the warmest, most delightful lass in your bed - when you went to sleep solo t' begin with!

Wake n' Bake is indeed a wondermous thing!

You CAN get kicked out of the Prince of Wales!

The Number One reason I"m late to the R/F Meet n' Greet - Chain Maile Show! OPA!

And because "this one's got 11..." Friends at TRF/Campgrounds multiply like Tribbles! You'll end up with more than you can possibly count!

I've taken a drink from the EverCrown....its one of those things that you wish someone would of warned you about...then you kick yourself for taking a few more swigs because, why not...it's can't be all that bad...yeah right.

"MOUSE,n. "Animalistic man-child which strews it's path with fainting woman"....less so these days :)

Aye Mouse! Indeed 'twas "experience" o' th' EverCrown wot led t' th' epiphany t' fake th' first swig an' go light on th' second. 'es a terrible enabler tha' William th' Traveler!

Things I learned this past weekend....
-I want to add that during cold weather air mattresses will expand and contract.  This mean during the cold COLD night they will go down and as it get's warmer fill back up.
-When shifting one's self on a wobbly air mattress, remember to use even pressure when moving.  If you don't, you could cause all the air to rush to the unoccupied area, and dump your partner onto the cold ground from a sound WARM sleep.  They will NOT thank you for it.
- I second Trilliums's comment, we walked around faire all day Saturday and Sunday and only 4 people from here said hi. :)
-I second Molden's comment.  Though our camps were a bit apart we made friends with 2 groups.  And because rennies are helpful and generous we shared salt and peper, pam cooking spray, as well as Pyrate Rum & Single Barrel Jack Daniels.
-And the last think I learned was, just because your tend doesn't have mildew on it and stink doesn't mean that it is useable. CHECK YOUR ZIPPERS!  Our tent worked great going up, but saddly we couldnt' close our front door.  With the application of rennie engiunity hand soap, cooking spray, and safety pins we at least had some sort of door.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Things I learned this season:

I will go into Faire on Sunday no matter how much I protest.
There's always someone around to keep me warm.
My mug will NEVER be empty.
It's not so bad just hanging with the kids so my friends can have grown-up time.
If you don't have it--someone will loan it to you.
If there is no picture, it didn't happen.
What happens at Faire goes on Facebook or Youtube.

It was a great season, everyone!

Agreed, I hit one somewhere near the mud pit.  Almost took me down, but my daughter kept me upright.   ;D

I found one between POW and the Pirate Shop, near the Scottish Court.  Only time all season StudMuffin threw me.  Luckily there were several very kind mundanes who picked me up and got me remounted.  Now I keep a much closer eye when passing through that area.
