One of my bests - that I would Love to repeat. And I went through a TON of candles on this one!

I set up my playlist with soft romantic music in the back ground. I had large throw pillows on the living room floor and candles lighting the room. There we had a large plate of fruits, cheeses, crackers, ladyfingers, honey, along with a nice, crisp white wine. We took our time, relaxing, noshing, cooing, and smooching...

after enjoying our slow build up, I drew a warm, vanilla bubble bath in my queen tub and lit more candles there (& the bedroom also), once ready...I led her to her bath where I joined her, continuing our slow, luxurious build to things to come.

After bathing, we patted each other dry with fluffy towels. After drying each other, I led her to outside the
bedroom - where traction was much better...kissed her slowly, leading to a bit of a dip, positioning her in my arms to sweep her up as I stood. Holding her easily, I kissed her sweetly before carrying her into my candle-lit bedroom and laying her gently on the bed...

Did it get warm in here to anyone else??? :-[ :-[ :o   Lady M ...enjoy!! ;)

Thank you for the hug, Lady Amy  :)  I needed that.

And, yes, it did get warm, and I sure hope that pyrate packed some candles and bubble bath in his bag for Lady M.  ;)

Hmmm.... my ultimate romantic evening would have to come at the end of a day at TRF spent together roaming the grounds, greeting friends, and watching the shows. This would be capped off with a round to our favorite 'on a stick' vendors for the makings of a picnic supper to be eaten at the arena, after arriving early enough to get really good seats (stage right, about halfway up, right at the lake end of the benches). Turn to face the lake for the fireworks with me in front so I can lean back and have strong arms (and maybe a warm cloak that has that good man smell) around me as the temperature drops, followed by a meandering hand holding walk through the grounds and back to camp.

Presents are nice and I enjoy them, but I can purchase most of the things I want for myself. Real romance is about the things you can't buy - genuine interest in someone else as a person and taking the time to spend time together.

I'm happiest when I'm truly surprised. When I haven't had to lift a finger or speak a word to get something fantastically wonderful. Oh, and also, all I want- make my decision for me. Plan something. Put in some effort. You don't have to spend a lot of money- just your time and energy makes it all worth it.

Unfortunately, nobody seems to be able to either keep secrets from me OR keep the fact that they're keeping secrets from me. By that time, I know somethings up and I'm ready for any possibility.

I think so many things are romantic, with the right person.  Sometimes Drake and I dress up, go to a nice dinner followed by coffee at this little coffee shop that we only go to when we're alone.  Usually, it's just us ordering in, watching tv in our sweats, playing video games, and talking.
The morning after we first, uh, "consumated" our relatinship, he took me for donuts and then to walk around the park.  We saw an older gentleman there, and Drake politely asked the man if he might spare a slice of bread, because, as he said "My girlfriend would love to feed the ducks and I didn't think to bring any bread."  That was so sweet and romantic to me.
We've spent a day rafting down the river and followed it up with BBQ, and those are so romantic and fun.  And of course, there's faire :)  We're going to CTRF this weekend because that's what I wanted for Valentine's day.  What could be more romantic then a Valentine's at faire :)

Not likely to happen but:

Ride & dinner in a water taxi around Sydney Harbour; Gilbert & Sullivan at the Opera House; a stroll around the quay; then off to the Rocks to the Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel for a pint or three of Lord Nelson's Blood ale & to share a pie, then upstairs to one of their quaint rooms for a little *eyebrow waggling*.

It was the fair time of youth when a young man's fancy turns to making the greatest impression possible upon his newfound young lady.  We went out to a local park late one afternoon with a bottle of sparkling wine and some nosh.  Lying there on a sheet with a comfortable buzz, snuggling close, we shared those first few kisses that are astonishingly smooth and sweet.  Our faces were close, so very close, her face filled my vision and her breath filled my head, headier than any wine.  Our bodies touched from our feet to our shoulders, I wanted to be a part of her, make her a part of me.  It was The Perfect Moment.

The purple dusk rolled in, night had just fallen and I was going to tell her "I love you" for the very first time.  The Earth was passing through the Perseid meteor shower (or was it the Leonid, I forget with the passing of time) and I thought it would make an impression on her, being together under the star-streaked heavens and saying something more than romantic.

"Look up at the stars," I said, pointing with my hand.  Her beautiful face did not turn from mine, only a shift of her dark brown eyes to the heavens.  With a smile, I turned to look up and, with a dramatic pause and a sharp but quiet intake of breath, began to say what I had wanted to tell her.  "..." and before even a sound could pass my lips, still moist from her kisses, a bright falling star streaked across the sky, directly where my hand was gesturing.

Eyes wide in amazement, she gasped.  "Ooh," she cooed in my ear, "do it again!"  With a smile, I whispered, "For you..." and with a simple flourish, worthy of the Merlin himself, I flicked my fingers casually towards the deepening night sky, and another falling star, brighter than the first, flung itself to Earth, following along the same path as the first.  Even I was stunned.

A tremble rushed through her, felt along my whole self, wherever her body touched mine, her arms pulled me closer. "Please," she quietly asked, "please don't hurt me?"  She was trembling in fear, holding me in admiration, gazing at me in longing adoration.  I smiled and said, "I wouldn't hurt you, I love you."

I think I made an impression on her that night.

*Happy Sigh* So Pretty...

Romantic Evening is simple enough.
It is what you make of it.

Something as simple as changing a tire in the rain while laughing our arses off at the absurdity
of the situation.

Riding with the top down on the car, cause we couldn't get the top to come up.

Riding on the tailgate and letting our feet drag on the road as the dirt whips up a cloud of dust.

I guess with all the pratfalls, pitfalls, clumsy occasions and misspoken words. Just being together is what truly counts.

Although I have a romantic morning:
The morning the radio station (103.7) called me at 6am to play a radio game.
and at the end, having one of the D.J's ask one last question
"Will you marry {insert fiance's name here}"
And having my fiance sitting on the floor next to me, present me with a saphire ring.
*Happy Happy*

My favorite romantic evening with my fiance is where we:

1.) Take a bath/shower together. Wash and massage either other. Bath salts are a must, bubbles and candles and music are optional.
2.) Get out and cuddle for a while. More massaging/rubbing is optional, but very nice.
3.) Either make or order whatever sounds good.
4.) Watch a movie or show together over dessert with more cuddling.
5.) Have each other for second-dessert ;)

I found a new Romatic idyll

The Full Moon Inn in Luckenbach.
The grape suite has a big covered front porch with rockers with the Texas Hill Country for a view.
Sunset on the porch with some good wine, exotic cheeses and a Cantiga CD can hardly be beat.
The only living things that come by are the farm dogs and an occasional armadillo.

Sitting on the steps of the St Louis Cathedral in the dark on a hot summer night. I mean, we are talking so hot you feel the heat radiating from the bricks.

The sun has just set over the Mississippi. You smell the jasmine in the air and you are listening to a five-member band play soft jazz working for tips they keep in a battered hat by the bass player. You lean against the pillar of church and close your eyes.

Head down to Cafe du Monde to get fresh beignets and sit on the riverbank and watch the steamships come in.

It doesn't get any better than that.
Show me your tan lines..and I'll show you mine!

Hard for me to do, having just lost the love of my life.  But perhaps this will stir someone to discover theirs.

Drive out to a back country road on a cold, clear night and watch a meteor shower.  (We did just this, a few weeks before he died.)

Ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Gaze out over Paris, and marvel at the city below you.

Ride a carousel together.

Dance in the rain, and laugh together.

Hold hands while watching the river roll by.

Take a moonlight stroll together.

Play with baby kittens.

Photograph each other, all the time, and in all situations - funny, sexy, sleeping, in costume. At a funny sign by the road, sitting in a field of flowers.  Getting dressed on the parking lot at Faire.

Shop for fabric or costumes together.

Sit around a campfire, enjoying good food with good friends, no matter if it's cold, or wet, or raining.

Watch fireworks together.

Dress up in garb, (with your kids, too!) and go see a historical themed movie.

Send texts or emails that say I love you, or the things I miss about you, even when you are not oceans apart.

See your favorite play.

Sing together on long drives.

Take showers together, even if you just lay down and sleep afterwards.

I think my all time favorite romantic evening idea is having a camp out in the yard.  Roast dinner over an open campfire, snuggle up and watch a meteor shower, share a bottle of wine and roasted marshmallows, then head inside and cap off the evening watching The Tudors!
