The best way to camp at TRF is keep your camp small and tight.  Tents have to be right on top of one another.  Vehicles should be parked on the barrier.  The tighter the better.

TRF is like a small city.  A small city that has its good parts of town and its slums.  Camp in the slums and you're gonna have a bad experience.  Unfortunately, this city is so small that the slums are right next door to the decent side of town so sometimes the trouble makers find their way in, but we do good at running them off.  The best advice I can give is to camp with veterans who know the lay of the land and who can offer protection from the undesirables.

I have been thinking this over and have come to the conclusion that I will be adding this to my camp gear.

If I can direct the sensor to only be activated when someone passes into my own camp, and I set it up only when I am going to sleep or walkabout it could detour the camp gremlins.  Of course I will also try to set up as close to a large camp as I can without getting into there space, and keep the light so as to not bother anyone else as well.

Just rly recovering from getting back and got to say i heard of more break ins then ever before.  Cops came around 5 times while we were cooking hamburgers on a propane grill to check and make sure our fire was acceptable, come morning two camps beside us had coolers stolen, apparently someone had fun taking the alcohol from one and pouring it all over the dudes car, and it looked liked a rampaging bull had come through our camp, chairs, grill, some unlit tiki torches we had put up to keep people from stumbling in had all been thrown to the ground.  Just wasnt a very safe camping xp this year sorry to say.

For us we had no issues whatsoever. I did hear the Celtic Rogues had some coolers stolen. Rumor has its the Camp Panda crew thats camps right on the corner by the quickie mart thats been stealing coolers. From what i was told Charlie and Mike had banned them from camp when coolers from clans were found labeled with owners names in there camp but they heard they were fired so they came back. I was pretty much the camp security and was on fire, drunk and thief watch in our camp. The only ones i had to worry about was our own drunks. Stayed up till 430am  both nights. Was pretty quiet both nights. Word to the wise have someone or have a rotation to watch your camp at night and during the day. Pays to have good Neighbors ours was the Green Flame good people.

Saw them fire one of those things off on the discoverage channel.  I think it was ISDF that uses them.

We had no theft issues either, in fact Saturday some liquor didn't get put away and was sitting on the table in the middle of camp under the pavilion with just mesh walls zippered down and no one touched anything. I was shocked to find it still sitting there.

It was nice having good neighbors... and being away from The Circle.

We were really lucky though that made me nervous. We knew almost everyone camping around us and the people we didn't, we introduced ourselves too. It was REALLY nice not being next to the drum circle.

Even though on Saturday night, we had a young drunkard wander to our fire, and after a short exchange and his persistence of trying to talk to Mystery, I started to get uncomfortable. I asked him to leave and his response was to instead plop down in a chair by the fire. I gve fair warning though, and very calmly stated, "There are two very big men that will remove you if you don't leave..."

He gone after a few moments when I got up and talked to some of the men in camp. I'm very lucky to have so many faire brothers/Uncles/friends there to look after me or come running at the first word...

They seemed to come around every couple of hours or so at our place.  Was good seeing them and yeah being away from the fire pit I think helps alot.  Plus with not having the bonfire I am sure cut down on the amount of traffic in the area.
