I am looking for a decent lined cloak suitable for winter wear. I was at Loveland Castle for the Castleteer gathering this past Saturday and was wishing I had a decent lined cloak. I do have a non-lined cloak but it wouldn't have done much good if I could even find it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You may want to check out Half Moon http://www.hmoon.com/ .

The Renstore is having a winter cloak sale.  25% off all their warm weather cloaks.  You could also try pyramid collection or custom cloaks.

Texas Body Hangings, I have many of their cloaks from single layer shorties to full-length lined with the over cape and hood which suit me well for the variability of Minnesota weather.  I have no other outerwear, they're my "civilian" wear as well.  If it's raining, you can put your bag/purse/briefcase under the cloak and keep it dry, flip the overcloak back if your arms get too warm, share it with a friend, a myriad of options.  I like the wool lined with silk, so much warmer and more stylish than a polyester down-filled parka.

I remember Half Moon. They had a booth at the Michigan faire, but I don't know if they are still vending there anymore. Then again, it has been 4 years since I was at Michigan.

The opening weekend of the Colorado Renaissance Festival this last season saw rain, rain, rain, and more rain, with occasional hail, and with temperatures topping out around 50 degrees.  Being members of the cast, the Baroness and I were required to be out in it from canon to canon.  Fortunately, we had our Gore-tex- lined capes from:

Thusly covered, we stayed toasty and dry the entire weekend.  Several other members of the cast, including Queen Anne herself, ordered cloaks after spending the weekend cold, wet, and miserable.  (Naturally, the remainder of the season was dry and hot.)

Doug and Kat have several standard cloaks, all lined with Gore-tex, and guaranteed waterproof.  In addition, they offer custom cloaks with the outer layer being the fabric of your choice.  They are a pleasure to do business with, the workmanship is excellent, and their prices are, in our opinion, quite reasonable.  We love our Half Moon capes, but when the weather gets iffy our "mystic's" are the ones we throw in the coach.

I think that most of the people that worked Colorado this last summer all are looking into nice warm cloaks! I know my some of my Garland Girls have been looking into having warmer things just in case.

For the cloaks I have heard nothing but good for Texas Body Hangings and Half Moon

Anon,

I don't believe Half Moon does MiRF anymore. I know they do MnRF as that is where I got my cape from. I just love it, too. It's so warm and keeps me dry in the wet weather.

M'Lady and I wear Half Moon capes at MNRF when ever the weather gets cool or wet.  They are GREAT! I hawk and can stand in the rain and stay warm and dry with mine on.
