It could also be incredibly enlightening...Everyone might just decide to behave...shocking as that thought might be!
The idea of the cocktail party makes me think of Steve Allen's PBS show, "Meeting of Minds..."

Yes, Nickie, good manners would rule the day. I am sure if the women didn't get along, they would just avoid each other's company.
As it should be.

And thank you for the link..I forgot about that show! I wish they had more shows like this.

Galleryguy, thank you for a site that allows us insight into fantastic costuming and historical richness.
Show me your tan lines..and I'll show you mine!

Wish there were some video excerpts available from Meeting of the Minds. I'd love to see that. Love that it's scripted with words actually used by those portrayed.

Yes, a much nicer outcome than the one I had painted. We'll never really know the true personality of these people but for what was written and said. It would be wonderful to really see the day to day of who they really were. But for circumstance of birth and politics are they really that much different from you or I?

Curious why you placed Jack the Ripper with the Royals and not with the other Really Awful People?'

Anna:

From a certain point of view he could be placed in both categories.  Some researchers have suggested a possible identity of "The Ripper"  as Prince Albert Victor of the royal family of Queen Victoria.   No real evidence really existed and the prince
had alibis for several of the murders, yet nonetheless he was a royal suspect.

Two forensic detectives from Scotland sponsored by the Smithsonian reviewed all the available evidence on Jack the Rpper recently. Aided by other criminology specialists using sophiticated computer programs, they determined that Jack was probably of limited education and lived within 1 block of the first murder. He was likely a laborer and died shortly after the final murder. One psychological profile shows he was probably ill and dying, and that triggered his psychosis.
On another note... I was amazed at how much of the character of the original came through in the historical figures.

Ears are firmly attached!
Indeed, Steve Allen was in a class by himself. "Minds" is an all-time favorite TV show.
Perhaps another Steve (Martin) is our current renaissance entertainer?

Thanks to you all for visiting our website! We are engaged in a couple of activities that could involve your members.

First, I would like to invite everyone to visit the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, where a collection of American Revolutionary and Civil War Figures will be on display until May 22. For details, see our blog at http://www.historicalfiguresfoundation.blogspot.com/.

More later. . .
