Well, I live just east of Rochester NY, and it is very, very cold today! Blustery, windy, cold! The type where you just want to hibernate! Hahaha.... :D
Waiting for the snow to come.  :'(
I hate snow.......... :-[

Irish, i'll send  you some  snow.  Where I live in New York, it has been snowing everyday  for  the last two weeks. More on the  way today. I just love  lake effect snow ! ::)

My furnace has completely died!  Of all the times for this to happen it has to go out when it is -17 degrees here!  At least we have space heaters and lots of blankets.  We should be getting a new furnace tomorrow...now to just figure out how to pay for it.

My sympathies on the white stuff falling from sky and low, low, LOW temps some of you are experiencing.  Some hardy souls actually enjoy this kind of winter, but I opted out some 25 years ago and moved to San Antonio, Texas, retiring about 30 miles from there.   Cold here is 32 degrees (above zero, that is).

May your warm hearts and dreams of faire protect you all.

Some of the energy companies do furnaces cheap and you can put them on your gas bill and pay monthly. Might be worth looking into.

And some of the larger companies are doing furnaces cheap to stay open and keep key employees so they still have a work force when things get better.

Well!!!  snowed in for day #5....welcome la Nina!  My son and nephew have been shovelling off the garage roof for the past 4 hours.  The snow was drifted above the shoulders of my son who is 6ft.  We can't see the Lincoln on the front yard for sale.

There were 3 couples stranded down the road that I sent coffee to this morning.  Hubby took it to them with the tractor.  There are 300 vehicles trapped on a stretch of highway a couple of hours west of here for over 24 hours now.  The military has been called in and the only way to reach them is by snowmobile.  I hope they can be pulled out soon...that would be horrible.  Being snowed in your house is one thing...being in a car must be awful.

So what are you doing this weekend?

You're going to...wait...WHAT???

You could put Upper Michigan on that pic.  Total for this year hasn't been to bad.  Only 70 inches so far.  Ski Hills are still crying for more though.

I could probably dig a trench that deep in my front yard.  :o

I recently did something that my dad used to do. I tied a scrap of red cloth to the radio antenna of my car to make it more visible over the snow piles at road intersections.

The thing to remember is that here in the permafridge things like termites, black widows, rattlesnakes mostly get frozen out. Had some friends move to southern Indiana and didn't realize at first that they needed to spray for termites every year. No mosquitos until June.

It's rumored that the actor who plays the Lord Mayor at MNRF has a clause in his contract that he doesn't have to work if it snows on site which is more likely since we now run into the first weekend of October most years. Rumor is he has exercised the option one year when we got some flurries (never have had measurable accumulation that early in the year at least since the last Ice age)
