Part-time Blackfryar Company

On February 19 & 20, actors can audition for the apprentice acting company, “The Blackfryars,” which consists of 50 to 80 volunteer members who donate their time to help portray the characters who bring our working Tudor village to life. The Blackfryars begin their training in April, attending rehearsals and workshops every Saturday. Performances are Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday throughout the 12-week performance run.

Blackfryar auditionees must be 15 years of age or older, and have the desire to work and learn in a professional theater environment. Theatrical experience is not required, only a sense of fun and teamwork.

All auditionees should bring a recent photograph, resume of any theatrical experience and prepare a one minute monologue and thirty seconds of an a cappella song. If you play an instrument, please bring that as well. Call backs will be held the same day. Additional information may be found at www.PaRenFaire.com.

Call for appointment: (717) 665-7021 ext. 120

Full-Time Bacchanalian Cast

On February 12 & 13, actors can audition for the full-time, professional Bacchanalian acting company consisting of 35 to 40 experienced male and female actors, singers and dancers from across the country. The Bacchanalians will perform swashbuckling swordplay shows, Shakespearean dramas, interactive improvised scenarios, and rollicking music and dance numbers, all while portraying Elizabethan characters. The Bacchanalian Cast commitment is 16 weeks beginning with 4 weeks of intensive rehearsals and continuing with a 12-week performance run Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday with some mid-week school day performances.

Strong improvisational and comic skills are preferred and stage combat experience is a plus for actors. The cast will receive training in improvisation, voice, children’s theater, movement, dialect, stage combat, stunts, Shakespeare, character development, and the techniques of interaction.

All auditionees should bring a headshot and resume and prepare a one minute monologue and thirty seconds of an a cappella song. If you play an instrument, please bring that as well. Call backs will be held the same day. Additional information may be found at www.PaRenFaire.com.

Call for appointment: (717) 665-7021 ext. 120

Transportation to and from the train station, airport or bus station for actors coming from out of town is available.

Auditions just wrapped up this weekend, but submissions are still being accepted if anyone missed them and still wants to be considered. Contact info for Blake Braswell, the Artistic Director, is on the website (or the phone number in the first post).
