Also late, but you may want to consult with the haunted house community, as they use this kind of thing all of the time.  You can find a lot of local haunters on the boards at http://www.dfwhauntedhouses.com/ and you can get national resources on the boards at http://www.hauntworld.com/

A lot of them are currently at TransWorld (the big industry convention), but they're a pretty helpful group overall and even if they can't get answers for you this minute, they WILL help out when they get back.
