OKay you all are always upset that to good things happen on the West Coast (very much true though I think it is the water  ;D ) well here is one for the East Coast!  It seems some people in
Philadelphia University Design Center, stumbled across a box and upon a closer look? It is extant fabrics from the 15th, 16th and 17th Centuries!!  They are fragile now and they need help so they are hoping to have a fund raiser by allowing some people the chance to photograph and measure and perhaps? Touch these pieces!!

Amazing!  What a treasure to find and a great idea for fund raising to protect these pieces.
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Great find!

I would love to be able to go. Its amazing how little some of the patterns have changed in 400 years!

I am hoping it proves that our Stingy Victorians, raided their ancestors trunks and re-used the fabrics that were still good!  I am always on the look out for extant pieces from UK, France area, even Spain because we just don't have them.  So this is like Christmas and my birthday combined!  I am so going, all I need to know is when and how much it could be as much as $100.00 per ticket, but it is a once in a lifetime thing, so I will be on the next flight!
