For those like myself who use wheelchairs exclusively I was wondering if you still use a belt to carry items or how do carry your mug, weapons, utensils intruments,etc...Especially using a manual chair or even a electric.this is for anyone to chime in i'm very curious about ideas, solutions etc. thank you.

Depending on how wide you seat it, I am sure you could still have items on a belt.  Just as long as you can sit comfortably.

Last year at MIRF there was this woman who used a wheelchair, but it took me until the last day of faire to realize that it was a chair.

Her chair was rigged to have poles on it so that it looked something like a rickshaw.  She had a canopy over her and her seat and back were covered with skins, silks and brocades.  She had her companion to pull her about and since she was dressed in upper class stuff - he just fetched everything for her.

The only thing I can offer is that I made a guy an special vest that could hold his wallet, pens, and anything he needed on each side of his vest.  He couldn't pick up things from his pockets but given the amount of "pinch" he had he could pickup/put away the items.

When I had my foot surgery I kept my things in a brocade 'purse' of sorts. I dressed in my royal outfit (which hid the bandanges)  and had my friend dress as a servant.  He escorted me all over the fair, and got things so i didnt' have to get up. It was only for one weekend but it worked. /shrug
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

There was a guy who made a special "wheelchair" for fest, kind of a little goat cart, but powered . . . I used to have a link . . .

Otherwise, I'd say a couple of bags and one of these for the muddier days:

Now THAT is the coolest damn thing I have ever seen!!

A couple of folks I work with would be digging one of those.

Tallulah

I have seen chairs with Frames that cover them.  Mostly the electic Cart styles.

One I have seen is a Ship and the person using the chair was dressed as a Ships Captain.
The other, it was a nice carriage that even had a child's boucy horse attached as the Work animal.

I have seen wheel chairs covered in blankets as best as they can be too.

Have you considered wearing a Sash style belt?

girlmacbeth

a sash belt is great idea never thoughtof that

Me and my Mrs. have had to get creative about lugging things around. A transfer board doubles as a table and booty carrier(purchases) ; the mundane "belt" doubles as a reticule holder as to keep the essentials and business cards managed.
Rogues and Pollywogs! Where is the Brownie?
