I visited Castle Garden creations site (I ordered and paid for a gown and farthingale in February, per an email Saturday they are finished with my order  and will be mailing it today)

  Sadly, I see this notice.....

"We will be pulling up the drawbridge and closing the portcullis to Castle Garden Creations on April 1st. We would like to thank our many customers over the years, who have been like family to us. If you have any questions for us, or have any other need to contact us, please do so at castlegardencreations@hotmail.com."

I received my new dress and farthingale yesterday.  It is beautiful.  Too bad they are closing.

Pictures, please! I thought they made beautiful things (and I have one of their corsets), but they never had enough pictures of their pieces on their website! Still, it's *always* sad to lose another small business; they're irreplaceable.

Gem-are you on facebook?  Pics are there.  I never really liked the pics they used, so I waited until  I saw one of their outfits on a live person.
The gown is black velveteen, gold and black brocade forepart and under sleeves w/white stain puffs fastened by 3/4" ornate gold buttons (10 on each sleeve)  and shiny black satin fold back oversleeves.   Fits like a dream over all the proper Tudor underthings (I already had one of their corsets)  I need a bumroll to prop up the cartridge pleats at the waist but that is easy to make.
