Patrons Campground and July 2nd Gathering

Covering several points, so bear with me.

A. Okay, first thing as it's the most sensitive issue. None of the existing clans in the reserved area will lose their claims. My previous posting was in error as a mis-understanding of managements desires. Your clan has spent time and money clearing and maintaining your areas.

B. I will be opening up several areas for clans/groups to reserve and clear during the July 2nd gathering. Meet with me at 9 AM on Saturday by the ticket/security booth from the highway 290 campgrounds entrance. I will personally tour the areas available and explain the rules and responsibilities of having a reserved area. If you are interested, bring some means of marking off your desired area (yellow barrier tape works best). Also bring some form of sign showing your clan/group name. Mark off enough area for your anticipated group attendance plus vehicle parking. Trees larger than 3" diameter cannot be cut down without my specific permission. Preferred group size is 10 or more persons attending most of the Faire weekends.

C. The present campgrounds entrance from highway 290 will no longer be available for the 2012 and beyond seasons. The campgrounds entrance will be through the main parking lot.

D. For the July 2nd gathering, there will be a pot-luck dinner by the 7-Sisters, with beverages provided by the Faire. Dinner is usually around 6 PM with a great drumming sesson thereafter.

E. For folks camping on the July 2nd gathering, the flushies by the pub will be available (no port-a-johns in the campgrounds). A trash dumpster will be available by Comos (Italian restaraunt by the Pub). If you can't haul your trash bags over there, please bag your trash and place it along the Patrons campgrounds road, so that staff can pick it up Monday.

F. Campgrounds will open Friday afternoon July 1st. I can't be onsite until late Friday or early Saturday, but other staff members can unlock the campgrounds gate. Campgrounds must be departed by noon Monday July 4th.

G. For the July 2nd gathering, please check with Staff before using fireworks on the weekend. We maintain contact with the Bastrop County fire department concerning the burn ban/fire hazard rules. If we say no fireworks, then don't get upset when we squash your fireworks.

H. We will post the future gathering weekends as soon as they are determined. General rule is every 6 weeks until TRF opens.

I. Besides clearing your clan/group areas, the Faire needs volunteers to help maintain the Faire area. Some tasks include clearing up dropped branches, cutting down dead trees and chainsawing into firewood to be used at the 7-Sisters, mowing, painting various things, helping me clear the General/Open campgrounds.
