Milord is finding the 36" waxed shoelaces I bought for the kirtle to be a little too short to work with easily, but they're the perfect diameter/thickness for my hand-done eyelets. I can't find this kind of lace in a longer length anywhere locally, so I'm wondering if they make similar dedicated corset lacing, with the bound tips/aglets already attached (which are necessary for feeding the laces through the snug eyelets). I really like the waxed laces, as they glide really smoothly through the lacing holes.

The laces I have look like this extreme close-up I found online:

Any leads?

Well I can tell you it isn't worth continuing look at shoe stores. Thats the longest length they are mass produced and sold in as they are created for dress shoes, which usually have 3 or 4 eyelets but never more than 6. I'm pretty sure they have some at joanns last time I was there but it was by the yard so it didn't have aglets. You could get some aglets and put them on yourself (search for aglets or bolo tips).
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

If you plan to make a lot of corsets, you can pick up a spool of the laces, and an aglet setter.  I know the aglet setter is like $50 bucks it's self, so like I said. If you plan to make a lot of laces it might be worth your money.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Any REI or other recreational outdoors type store sells shoelaces in custom lengths.  Go there.  Buy much.

Or you could jsut go online to REI and get these:

I'm pretty sure the 72" length will do.  ;-)

EDIT:  If not, there is this:

Which comes in 144".  You can always dye it or go to the store.  I know they have them in different colors there.  Not that safety cone orange isn't period -it very much is.  Honest.  See?

Here is where we get all our corset supplies and they have lacing that should work just fine for you.  They are cheap and VERY good to deal with.
