Tossed an idea out to the cast

QuoteLast time we visited Bristol (10 yrs ago?) they had a Danse Macabre procession
towards the end of the day. Some might see it as kind of a downer thing, but it
would seem a great way to advertise the Trail of Terror... Have a couple people
following the skeletal figures & handing out fliers or discount coupons? Didn't
we already have a grim reaper on cast last year?

If nothing else the Goth crowd would like it.

To flesh the idea out some more

"The Danse Macabre consists of the dead or personified Death summoning representatives from all walks of life to dance along to the grave, typically with a pope, emperor, king, child, and labourer. They were produced to remind people of the fragility of their lives and how vain were the glories of earthly life." http://en.wikipedia.org/wi?ki/Danse_Macabre

I like it, too! Maybe normal parade for the first few weeks, then once we're past the "hump weekend," do the Danse Macabre to mourn the end of Fest and promote Trail of Terror.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

What fun this would be!  I have visions of people scurrying back to their booths to change into creepy clothes for the Danse Macabre!!
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Not us at our booth.  We wouldn't get into something like that.  LOL ;)

Fest is pushing back the parade to 6:15pm.  It will end outside the front gate; so if they added Danse Macabre the last weekend it truly would be a mournful ending to fest  ;D
Everything goes better with giggles

Yeah that's kind what got me thinking about it.

Quoterepresentatives from all walks of life to dance along to the grave, typically with a pope, emperor, king, child, and labourer.

-I was thinking there's also got to be a way to add a little humor to it. -Maybe with the dead peasants picking on the dead nobles in some way now that they're all equal? I could see the "child" picking on the "Pope" potentially getting a few laughs from adults. It doesn't have to be a totally somber danse.

Seriously, I am SOOOO happy about the change of time for parade. That means closing gate show and post-parade are combined, giving me more free time during the middle of the day to have lunch and relax and visit, woot! Also, it won't be quite so hot for those who walk in it.
