Ok, I have a question. I have recently starting making Barbie garb for a friend's daughter as a gift...I have her court gown almost complete, and want to make a french hood for it...anyone have any idea how I should do it? I have searched everywhere for a pattern, or even a tutorial (I am such a newbie sewer) and have had no luck....any help would be greatly appreciated!

While looking for bust portraits of various Roman empresses today, I came across this:

A doll from antiquity, with the head/hairdo of empress Julia Domna, but with a doll body with joint arms and legs. Originally it would probably have been dressed in the latest fashion. It is considered a toy for a little girl, not a statue of the said woman. And we think modern Barbies are long-limbed. Hah! This one even have a.... erm, mons pubis.
