Pretty much ditto on all fronts... I felt that way when I heard Stevie's cover of "Vodoo Chile/Slight Return" Merlin.

Best SRV memory was at the last free showing of the Fabulous Thunderbirds' Riverfest in Austin, TX. It had been raining off and on for days and was drizzling throughout the show. We were decidedly buzzed and up to our ankles in mud when the 2nd encore came. Stevie's brother, Jimmie, was seated on a steel folding chair in the middle of the stage, with a HUGE Texas flag as a backdrop, holding a double-necked guitar....when Stevie came up behind him, bent over to play the top while Jimmy played the bottom...they played Texas Flood, went into separate riffs and then brought them together seemlessly into The Eyes of Texas...that memory still raises goosebumps!

While I love everything SRV does, Riviera Paradise is the absolute best to sit by candlelight and sip champagne.

Not that I do that.....it's just one of those perfect songs.
