His eyes were cold and restless.
Wounds have almost healed.
She'd give half of Texas,
just to change the way he feels.
But she knows his love's in Tulsa,
and she knows he's gonna go.
Well it ain't no woman, flesh and blood,
It's that damned ol rodeo.

(Yeah, I like Garth Brooks.  What'cha gonna do?)

Sing along with you?  ;)

Oh great..now I have 'Grease' stuck in my mind!

I solve my problems and I see the light
We got a lovin' thing, we gotta feed it right
There ain't no danger we can go too far
We start believing now that we can be what we are...

And in THAT vein......

Why this car is automatic
It's systematic
It's hydromatic
Why it's grease lightning (Grease lightning)

We'll get some overhead lifters and some four barrel quads, oh yeah
(Keep talking whoa keep talking)
A fuel injection cutoff and chrome plated rods oh yeah
(I'll get the money I'll kill to get the money)
With a four speed on the floor they'll be waiting at the door
You know that ain't no sh*t we'll be getting lots of t*t
In Grease Lightning
Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go

I'm going down to Austin, Texas
I'm going down to save my soul
Get that bar-b-que and chili
Eat my fill then come back home
I'm gonna take my baby with me
We gonna have a high ol' time
We gonna eat till we get silly
Sho' do make a beer taste fine

Chorus
Oh my, momma ain't that Texas Cookin' something
Oh my, momma it'll stop yo' belly and backbone bumpin'
Oh my, momma ain't that Texas Cookin' good
Oh my, momma eat it everyday if I could

'If I had a million Ducats' - Brobdingnagian Bards

Listened to it 2 weeks ago while traveling to Jefferson City to fest and haven't been able to get it out of my head.  Which has been prompting me to think of what I would do if I had a million Ducats.

The garb, the mead....and the list goes on and on!

In South Australia I was born
To me heave away, haul away
In South Australia round Cape Horn
We're bound for South Australia

Haul away you rolling kings
To me heave away, haul away
Haul away, you'll hear me sing
We're bound for South Australia

Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Black widow by Motley crue.

In her eyes
You're the night's desire
You're the one on her lips

She'll drink your love
In the shadow of blood
It's a deadly, deadly kiss

You're just a man
All in her prey
In the web of delight

All you can do
Is close your eyes
Cause you've lost
Your life

In this theater of pain
Love and hate's the same
To the black widow
To the black widow
To the black widow

I need a love
I need a love
I need another black widow
I need a love
I need a love
I need another black widow

Well among kings and queens
Love and hate's the same
In this theater of pain
Love and hate's the same
To the black widow

Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar one evening fair,
And one could tell by how he walked he’d drunk more than his share.
He fumbled ‘round until he could no longer keep his feet,
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

Ring-ding-diddle-iddle-adi-o Ring-da-diddly-ai-o

He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street.
About that time two young and lovely girls just happened by,
One says to the other with a twinkle in her eye,

“See yon sleeping Scotsman, so strong and handsome build,
I wonder if it’s true what they don’t wear beneath the kilt?”

Ring-ding-diddle-iddle-adi-o Ring-da-diddly-ai-o

I wonder if it’s true what they don’t wear beneath the kilt?
They crept up on theat sleeping Scotsman, quiet as could be,
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see.
And there, behold, for them to view beneath his Scottish shirt,
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.

Ring-ding-diddle-iddle-adi-o Ring-da-diddly-ai-o

Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.
They marveled for a moment than one said, “we must be gone,
Let’s leave a present for our friend before we move along.”
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon tied into a bow,
Around the bonny-star the Scot’s kilt did lift and show.

Ring-ding-diddle-iddle-adi-o Ring-da-diddly-ai-o

Around the bonny-star the Scot’s kilt did lift and show.
Now the Scotsman woke to nature’s call and stumbled towards a tree,
Behind the bush he lifts his kilt and gawks at what he sees.
And in a startled voice he says to what’s before his eyes,
“Lad I don’t know where ya been but I see you won first prize.”

Ring-ding-diddle-iddle-adi-o Ring-da-diddly-ai-o

Lad I don’t know where ya been but I see you won first prize.
Thanks,

Tom

Another Irish Drinking Song by Da Vinci's Notebook

Gather ’round, ye lads and lasses, set ye for a while
And hearken to me mournful tale about the Emerald Isle
Let’s all raise our glasses high to friends and family gone
And lift our voices in another Irish drinking song

Consumption took me mother and me father got the pox
Me brother drank the whiskey ’til he wound up in a box
My other brother in the Troubles met with his demise
My sister has forever closed her smiling Irish eyes

CHORUS:
Now everybody’s died
So until our tears are dried
We’ll drink and drink and drink and drink,
and then we’ll drink some more
We’ll dance and sing and fight
until the early morning light
Then we’ll throw up, pass out, wake up, and then go drinking once again

Kenny was killed in Kilkenny and Claire, she died in Clare
Tip from Tipperary died out in the Derry air
Shannon jumped into the River Shannon back in June
Ernie fell into the Erne, and Tom is in the Toome

“Cleanliness is godliness” me Uncle Pat would sing
He broke his neck a’slippin’ on a bar of Irish Spring
O’Grady, he was 80 though his bride was just a pup
He died upon the honeymoon when she got his Irish up

CHORUS

Joe Murphy fought with Reilly near the banks of old Doneen
He took out his shillelagh and he stabbed him in the spleen
Crazy Uncle Mike believed he was a leprechaun -
In fact he’s just a leper, and his arms and legs are gone

When Timmy Johnson broke his neck it was a cryin’ shame
He wasn’t really Irish, but he went to Notre Dame
McNamara crossed the street and by a bus was hit
But he was just a Scotsman, so nobody gave a (ARRGHH)

CHORUS

Me drunken Uncle Brendan tried to drive home from the bar
The road rose up to meet him when he fell out of his car
Irony was what befell my great-grand Uncle Sam
He choked upon the very last potato in the land

Conor lived in Ulster town, he used to smuggle arms
Until the British killed him and cut off his lucky charms
And dear old Father Flanagan, who left the lord’s employ
Drunk on sacramental wine, beneath the altar boy

CHORUS

(slower)

Someday soon I’ll leave this world of pain and toil and sin
The Lord will take me by the hand to join all of me kin
Me only wish is when the Savior comes for me and you

(a tempo)

He kills the cast of Riverdance, and Michael Flatley too

CHORUS (2x)
Thanks,

Tom

So it's drinkin' songs ye be wantin', eh?

They come over here and they take all our land,
They cut off our heads and they boil them in oil!
Our children are leavin' and we have no heads!
We drink and we sing and we drink and we die!

We have no heads, no we have no heads!

They come over here and they chop off our legs,
They cut off our hands and puts nails in our eyes!
O'Grady is dead and O'Hanrahan's gone!
We drink and we die and continue to drink!

O'Hanrahan! No O'Hanrahan!

They buried poor O'Neil down in Country Shillhame,
The poor children cryin' and fee din dee de
Hin fey de din fey de din fey de din fey!
Fin hey bibble bibble hey bibble bibble hey bibble bibble hey!

O'Hanrahan! No O'Hanrahan!!

We drink and we sing and we drink and we sing! Hey!
We drink and we drive and we puke and we drink! Hey!
We drink and we fight and we bleed and we die! Hey!
We puke and we smoke and we drink and we die! HEY!

Well we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

You may never understand
How the stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil
And he is not always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire
When the stranger comes along.
Show me your tan lines..and I'll show you mine!

I just want to be Layla.....
