Songs From The Wood ~ Jethro Tull

Let me bring you songs from the wood:
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the garden grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can:
it'll make of you an honest man.
Let me bring you love from the field:
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.

Let me bring you all things refined:
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the wind to fill your sail.
I am the cross to take your nail:
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

And the days go by
Like a strand in the wind
In the web that is my own.
I begin again
Said to my friend, baby
Nothin' else mattered

This is the turkey leg soooong
This is the turkey leg soooong
I want a turkey leg, before they're all gone
This is the turkey leg soooong

I've been singing this song for 3 days now.  I'm just short of putting a spike through my skull.

I wish the song on replay in my head was as inspiring, tender, haunting or delightful as those of other poster's on this thread. But nooooo... the front counter showroom at work has 2 flat screen tv's. One tuned to the Speed Channel and the other to ESPN. At least 10 times a day both show the FreeCreditReport.com pirate commercial. To make matters worse, my boss has the words memorized and turns up the volume to sing along...

Lyrics:

They say a man should always dress for the job he wants,
So why am I dressed up like a pirate in this restaurant?
It's all because some hacker stole my identity,
Now I'm in here every evening serving chowder and iced tea,
Should've gone to free credit report dot com
I could of seen it coming at me like an atom bomb,
they monitor your credit and send you e-mail alerts,
So you don't end up selling fish to tourists in T-shirts

Ok, well, seems that this song is once again stuck in my head....

If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky
You can hide underneath me and come out at night
When I turn jet black, and you show off your light
I live to let you shine
I live to let you shine

And you can skyrocket away from me
Never come back if you find another galaxy
Far from here, with more room to fly
Just leave me your stardust to remember you by

If you'll be my boat, I'll be your sea
A depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity
Ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze
I live to make you free
I live to make you free

And you can set sail to the west if you want to
Past the horizon, till I can't even see you
Far from here, where the beaches are white
Just leave me your wake to remember you by

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument.
I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands.
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you.
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do.
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self-esteem.
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone!

I believe in karma;
what you give is what you get returned.
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say good-bye.

I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality.
I believe that trust is more important than monogamy.
I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul.
I believe that family is worth more than money or gold.
I believe the struggle for financial freedom isn't fair.
I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires!

I believe in karma;
what you give is what you get returned.
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say good-bye.

I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness.
I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed.
I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists.
I believe in love surviving death into eternity!

I believe in karma;
what you give is what you get returned.
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say good-bye.

The Big Music ~ The Waterboys

I have heard the big music
And I'll never be the same
Something so pure
Hey!
Just called my name

I have drowned in the big sea
Now I find I'm still alive
And I'm comin' up for ever
Hey!
Shadows all behind me
Ecstasy to come

I have

Climbed the big tree
Touched the big sky
I just stuck my
hand up in the air
And everything came into colour
Like Jazz Manna from sweet sweet chariots

I have seen the big mountain
And I swear I'm half way there
(You'll never get there, you'll never get there, You'll never get there)
But I will
I will always climb the mountain
Because I have heard the big music
And I'll never be the same
Something so pure
Hey!

I *heart* sentimental love songs.

Baroness:  Here's one of my favorites.  My friend, Jan Luby, (whose dad was Mel Ody, a famous juggler) calls them "sappy love songs," but she's just as prone to them as you or I...This one is by Ray Davies of The Kinks, from a rare vinyl recording, known as "The Great Lost Kinks Album..."  It's got a great string quartet playing during the bridge...

The Way Love Used To Be

I know a place not far from here
It's not far away, love, but if you come
I know a place where we'll be alone
And we'll talk of life, the way love used to be

I know a place not far away
And we'll find a way through the city streets
We'll find a way through the mad rushing crowd
And we'll talk about the way love used to be

I know a place not far from here
t's not far away, love, but if you come
I know a place where we'll be alone
And we'll talk about the way love used to be

Lady Brandy

Well in case you failed to notice,
In case you failed to see,
This is my heart bleeding before you,
This is me down on my knees.

And these foolish games are tearing me apart,
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
You're breaking my heart.

I have NO idea why these are in there.....and I HATE Jewel! SO not my type of music!

...wanders off to find her Korn CD....
In this I am all things.

BURNING OF AUCHINDOUN(minus the chorus)

As I cam' in by Fiddichside, on a May morning
I spied Willie MacIntosh an hour before the dawning

Turn agin, turn agin, turn agin, I bid ye
If ye burn Auchindoun, Huntly he will heid ye

Heid me or hang me, that shall never fear me
I'll burn Auchindoun thought the life leaves me

As I cam' in by Auchindoun on a may morning
Auchindoun was in a bleeze, an hour before the dawning

Crawing, crawing, for a' your crouse crawin'
Ye brunt your crop an' tint your wings an hour before the dawning
