Thanks. :) Yeah, I like it's bluesy quality.

Just got lots of new (to me) CD's, and this kinda jumped out at me today...  it most definitely sends a message...  ;)  :D
Rani - Fire Goddess

Aut disce... aut discede

Lady Christina de Pond

Whatever It is-Zac Brown Band

She's got eyes that cut you like a
knife and

lips that taste like sweet red wine

And pretty legs go to heaven every time

She got a gentle way that puts me at ease

When she walks in the room I can hardly breathe

Got a devastating smile knock a grown man to his knees

She's got whatever it is

It blows me away

She's everything I wanted to say to a woman

but couldn't find the words to say

She's got whatever it is

I don't know what to do

Because every time I try and tell her how I feel

it comes out "I love you"

You got whatever it is

You know I've never been the type that would ever want to
stay

Bring 'em home at night and they're gone the next day

But that all changed when she walked into my life

People ask me what it is

I tell them I don't know

Just something about the woman makes my heart go haywire

She's gonna be my wife

She's got whatever it is

It blows me away

She's everything I wanted to say to a woman

but couldn't find the words to say

She's got whatever it is

I don't know what to do

Because every time I try and tell her how I feel

it comes out "I love you"

You got whatever it is

When she loves me

Girl that's how I feel

When she loves me I'm on top of the world

Because when she loves me I can live forever

When she loves me I am untouchable

She's got whatever it is

It blows me away

She's everything I wanted to say to a woman

but couldn't find the words to say

She's got whatever it is

I don't know what to do

Because every time I try and tell her how I feel

it comes out "I love you"

You got whatever it is

You can almost hear the bubbles in the champagne, the tinkling of ice in a shot glass, the smoke-filled jazz club....can I get me some Sade???

He's laughing with another girl
And playing with another heart
Placing high stakes, making hearts ache
He's loved in seven languages
Jewel box life diamond nights and ruby lights, high in the sky
Heaven help him, when he falls
Diamond life, lover boy
He move in space with minimum waste and maximum joy
City lights and business nights
When you require streetcar desire for higher heights

No place for beginners or sensitive hearts
When sentiment is left to chance
No place to be ending but somewhere to start

No need to ask
He's a smooth operator
Smooth operator, smooth operator
Smooth operator

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale

Face to face, each classic case
We shadow box and double cross
Yet need the chase

A license to love, insurance to hold
Melts all your memories and change into gold
His eyes are like angels but his heart is cold

No need to ask
He's a smooth operator
Smooth operator, smooth operator
Smooth operator

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale

Smooth operator, smooth operator

~~Sade, Smooth Operator

Two questions--since when is Chicago on the East Coast?....and what is 'streetcar desire'?  I mean, it sounds...intriguing to say the least.  ;)

And...here is the complete video!

Maybe a reference to the intensity of attraction between the main characters in the movie "A Streetcar Named Desire"?  Pretty hot stuff...  :o

From a synopsis of the play...You asked. Frankly, I'd rather go with the Sultry Hot theme. Wonder if there's a streetcar named that?

"Unbridled sexual desire lead to isolating darkness and eventually death. Williams establishes this theme at the beginning of the play, when Blanche takes a streetcar named Desire (sex), transfers to one named Cemeteries (Death), and gets off at a street named named Elysian Fields (the Afterlife). He maintains the theme during the play with references to Blanche's first husband, a homosexual who committed suicide after she caught him with another man, and with Blanche's literal and figurative retreat into the shadows after having many sordid affairs. She shuns bright lights; she dates Mitch only in the evening."

I don't recall asking for a synopsis. I just asked what it meant.

If this is a direct quote from somewhere, I'd like to see the link.
Thanks.  :)

And yes, there is a streetcar that ran down Desire Street in New Orleans.
I saw the car and the street when I was there.

According to wikipedia, which I already knew--

Desire Street is a famous street in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to John Horne, the name is a misspelled homage to a lover of Napoleon named "Desiree". The famous play A Streetcar Named Desire refers to the transportation line to this street. It is also the title of a book by Jed Horne, and part of the title of a book by John Churchill Chase. The Desire neighborhood in the upper 9th Ward is named after the street, as are the area's Desire Projects although the housing development has been knocked down and replaced with smaller apartment buildings. Since Hurricane Katrina, most of the apartments are abandoned and sit in disrepair.

OK back to the topic, shall we?   :)

This one has been going through my head like a freight train...

The Veronicas- Take Me On the Floor

The lights are out and I barely know you
We're going up and the place is slowing down
I knew you'd come around
You captivate me, something about you's got me
I was lonely now you make me feel alive
Will you be mine tonight

Take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can't take it any more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I want you I want you I want you to show me love
Just take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can give you more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
You kill me you kill me you kill me with your touch

My heart is racing as you're moving closer
You take me higher with every breath I take
Would it be wrong to stay

One look at you and I know what you're thinking
Time's a belch and my heart is sinking down
You turn me inside out

Take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can't take it any more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I want you I want you I want you to show me love
Just take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can give you more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
You kill me you kill me you kill me with your touch

I wanna kiss a girl
I wanna kiss a girl
I wanna kiss a boy
I wanna...

I wanna kiss a girl (do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya)
I wanna kiss a girl (do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya)
I wanna kiss a boy (do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya)
I wanna kissa kissa kissa kissa

da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da

Take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can't take it any more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I want you I want you I want you to show me love
Just take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can give you more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
You kill me you kill me you kill me with your touch

Take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can't take it any more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I want you I want you I want you to show me love
Just take me on the floor (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
I can give you more (da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da)
You kill me you kill me you kill me please dont stop

I've been listening to a bit harder rock lately when I drive home late from work, and I heard this at like 1:30 this morning...its one of those songs that gets stuck in your head for awhile. Disclaimer, I do not in any way promote violence!

"You're Going Down" - Sick Puppies

Define your meaning of war
To me it's what we do when we're bored
I feel the heat comin' off of the blacktop
And it makes me want it more
Because I'm hyped up out of control
If it's a fight, I'm ready to go
I wouldn't put my money on the other guy
If you know what I know that I know

It's been a long time coming
And the table's turned around
'Cause one of us is going
One of us is going down
I'm not running,
It's a little different now
'Cause one of us is going
One of us is going down

Define your meaning of fun
Is it f******, drugging or guns
I feel the heat comin' off of the blacktop
So get ready for another one
Let's take a trip down memory lane
(Do you remember me?)
The words circling in my brain
(And what you did to me)
You can treat this like another all the same
But don't cry like a b**** when you feel the pain

It's been a long time coming
And the table's turned around
'Cause one of us is going
One of us is going down
I'm not running,
It's a little different now
'Cause one of us is going
One of us is going down

This is hardly worth fighting for
But it's the little petty s*** that I can't ignore
When my fist hits your face, and your face hits the floor

It'll be a long time coming
Bet you got the message now
'Cause I was never going
Yeah, you're the one that's going down

One of us is going down
I'm not running,
It's a little different now
'Cause one of us is going
One of us is going down

One of us is going down
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

The Great Atomic Power:
Are you ready for the great atomic power?
Will you rise and meet your saviour in the air?
Will you shout or will you cry when the fire comes from on high?
Are you ready for the great atomic power?

Well have you heard this man's invention that they call atomic power?
We're all in great confusion, do we know the time or hour?
A terrible explosion will ring down upon our land
Bringing horror and destruction, blotting out the works of man

Are you ready for the great atomic power?
Will you rise and meet your saviour in the air?
Will you shout or will you cry when the fire comes from on high?
Are you ready for the great atomic power?

Well there is one thing you can do, give your heart unto the Lord
He will be your guiding spirit, he'll be your shield and sword
He will always stand beside, you'll never taste of death
For your soul will fly to Heaven for eternal peach and rest

Are you ready for the great atomic power?
Will you rise and meet your saviour in the air?
Will you shout or will you cry when the fire comes from on high?
Are you ready for the great atomic power?

Are you ready for that great atomic power?
Will you rise and meet your saviour in the end?
Will you shout or will you cry when the fire comes from on high?
Are you ready for that great atomic power?
Let's take it home to Jesus
