They may be fat free, but the sodium content has to be outrageous...I usually try to get at least one a day, to help with my leg cramps...I also carry pickle juice with me just in case... :)

I serve Best Maid pickles at the theater.  It says one oz is 460mg sodium(or 19% daily value)

Pickles may be really salty but it's good to have something to replace all the electrolytes  you're using while you're walking around all day...

Where do you get the pickle juice?  I dearly love it but my cardioligist would kill me if I ate that many pickles just for the juice.
I've heard you can get it from pickle vendors but I've never tried.

I love the pickles the sell at TRF!  They taste just like the Claussen pickles we buy for ourselves, and they're the best commercial pickles I've ever had.  They aren't the pickles my grandma used to make for me, though...

Aren't pickles a fat-free food, though?  ;)

And I LOVE the King's Nuts!!!  Anytime... anywhere!!!  :P  :D
I thought we were supposed to stay on topic... all you think about is sex...

Pickles are virtually fat-free, depending on the type. But the dills they serve at faires probably run less than 20 calories total, and those are carb calories.  Only thing to watch is if you are on a reduced sodium diet.

I liked the Frog Legs at TRF last year also.  I wonder if they will be back.

Not sure if I've ever seen a thread that mentioned pickles or the king's nuts that didn't take a turn towards the inevitable.

*with heavy southern drawl*   Well ... I nevah!     :)

Reuben sandwiches  in the German section are out of this world.  I usually eat 3 to 4 a day when out @ TRF.

Strange

I like the Reubens myself, but they are all the way on the other end of faire from the shop, so...

Also, I remember sitting down to eat in the little biergarten with a friend a few years back.
An actual German family sat down at the next table, and after looking at the menu for a bit, had to ask the waitress-

"What exactly is a Reuben?"

The look on her face was priceless, like it never occurred to her that the Reuben wasn't actually a German food.

How about camp food. I'd love to see what tasty dishes people have come up with in the camp ground.

Ooohhh you just reminded me about CatAshtrophy's chili and Lady Guinevere's chicken-n-dumplings.  Cat makes her own chili powder and Guinny is an awesome cook.  Hoping we have that again at AHE.

Turkey legs! ( Why do they taste like ham? Why? I'm not complaining, I just want to know how I can apply this ham-tech to other meats, including ham )

And the skewered mushrooms... My first fair food. Anyone remember that " American Dad!" where Roger ate that special french bird while Barbara Streisand sung Celine Dion? It was like that, only a thousand times greater.

Though I will say last year I tried some of the Greek food in the Agora.. I will be trying more this year!
