Any good cd's of period [1520 to 1620] music that you would recommend. I am looking for the more lively type of songs. Tell me what you think.

Are you familiar with Cantiga? A wonderful group of musicians. They can also be found teamed with Owain Phyfe and The New World Renaisssance Band. "Early music for modern ears" is their approach using authentic tunes from the period.

Wolgemut is another great early music group. (German bagpipes, drums, rauschepfeiffe.) They often join Owain Phyfe for a song or two if they happen to be at the same faire.
