Play with it. Grab a ton of hair pins and some styling stuff and play my mum and sister are both cosmetologists so I learned there is never a hairstyle that hasn't been tried out first. So just play with it and see what you like.

For some great inspirartion pick up or borrow a copy of Shakespeare in Love. There are many lovely hairstyles in the film, both up and down, and it's the perfect film to prepare you for a romantic weekend at faire. :)

Ah!

Thanks Ladies. I was just thinking of trying some inspiration from a movie. I'd love something a bit curly, a bit not totally perfect...I've got a nice comb with feathers that I may try. You are right, I need to do a trial run first.

I can just see my husband now "Why are you in a tshirt and formal hair?"

"This is just how I felt today." (feathers in hair and all)

Thank you to everyone - last year was a great success. Unfortunately, our cameraman drank too much champagne and broke his camera. Yep...you heard me.

This year, I'll be more prepared anyways. My husband and I had the flu the day of, and being nauseous and strapped into a corset? Not fun. But we were better by the end of the night.

I have this awesome mask I got for the ball, and its just this thin bit of lace held be see-through ribbons (the ribbon is as thick as the mask).

The mask coveres from my eyebrows to mid-nose. The problem was, my lashes kept getting stuck or I felt smothered / too close to my eyes. Anyone got any ideas without using a different mask? this one works with my garb.
