'Ello fellow campers!

I was sitting here planning for Great Western War and realizing my camp has a ton of war virgins this year. My first War experience was such an amazing time and I want to make sure my newcomers have an equality fun first War. I'm definitely planning some intense Kings Cups games and maybe a croquet tournament. Nighttime usually brings endless parties and wandering but sometimes, the day hours drag a bit.

I'm wondering what you folks do to keep amused during the downtime? Any games or activities that are a camp tradition?

I like to get onsite as early as we can on Friday, set up camp, and just relax in a lawn chair and watch the rest of the campgrounds unfold around me.  Since we're all 'active' for most of the day Saturday and Sunday, Friday afternoon is my one chance to sit back and 'let it all sink in.'

Having said that, I sometimes toss a frisbee in the back of the truck, too.  :)
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

Thanks! Unfortunately Pennsic happens just as we're gearing up for our seven weekend run at MNRF. We do have a couple merchants there who sell our playing cards, but we'd be happy to find someone there willing to carry our fabric games as well as in some other parts of the country.

Seeing as how I am a proper lady, I'm quite sure I have no idea what you are referring to.

(And yes, it is a very popular game in my camp as well;)

I am almost always under orders from my friends to "Bring as many of your drums as you can fit!" when I camp for MiRF or similar such events. There's something about sitting around a fire with a nice brew and a bunch of drums.

We learned this at DragonCon last year.  You just need to come up with some cards and you're set!
