A second foray into Hollygrove!  Lady Heather has granted that our trip to Faire was too short to bear, and so another incursion is set for the weekend of September 17-18.  However, for this trip I will not be escorted by the Maiden, for she has granted that this can be an Armored Weekend, and has therefore bowed out of the festivities.

I will be instead attending with my esteemed Faire Accomplice, Sir Brentin Dragonsworn.  There are one or two other men of trustworthy minds and loyal sprits who have expressed interest, but have not yet attended any Faire, anywhere.  We would love for them to not dip their toe in the faire waters by loosing their Faire virginity at a one weekend, here-today-gone-without-a-trace Faires but rather jump in the proverbial deep end at Hollygrove.  The addiction would be instant, I can attest.

That being said, we intend to drive down from Barrie, Ontario, on the Saturday morning, arriving earlyish, and staying until close (or later).  We will then be bunking at a local Inn, with the full intention of attending again Sunday.  We will have to depart Sunday in time to make the trip back home and begin the rigors of Faire withdrawal and accept again our mundane lives, as this will be the last day of Faire for us this season.

So, I would ask any of our regulars, are there any festivities Friday night which would convince us to travel instead on Friday?  Are there festivities Saturday after Faire for which weary traveler may be welcome?  Is anyone interested in gathering Saturday or Sunday morning for a sip of Spirits to help with a fine start to the day?  I have been working on a few Loki recipes- though I may not share the recipes themselves, I may share in the fruits of my labors.

There aren't any actual faire events on Friday, save for Festival Friday on the 23rd. Most of the cast books it out of there on Saturday evenings, so I can't say for sure whether or not anything goes on afterward on Saturdays; my guess is probably not. :)
Sometimes you can't wait for the storm to pass; you have to just get out there and dance in the rain.

 :-[ :-\Too bad.

We'll have to find some entertainment in the area once we get to the hotel and Mundane Up, I guess.  Thanks unto thee Maiden McLeod

I work three out of every five weekends, so this one will be my last opportunity

I was hoping to get together with a few of the people who are lucky enough to live near and regularly attend Hollygrove, to get to know some of the people whose posts I read and whose faces I get to see so seldom, only twice a year (and that many if I'm lucky).  It doesn't have to be at the Faire grounds, but I was hoping that a few of you got together once in a while, and that maybe I could influence those who do get together into getting together on the Friday night, and maybe then joining them to say hello.

Failing that, we were hoping to get the grounds early enough to get dressed and then gather with a few like minded people, again to say hello and meet a few of you, then head to the gates for opening, so that when our paths cross, we may be able to smi9le a broader smile and call out in familiarity.

Just a thought and a hope.

My husband and I will be there Saturday 9/24 and Sunday 9/25. I'm really hoping we'll get there early. Would love to see what it's like to be there first thing.

there,s a booth called , Things From Rings , and they fly the R/F flag it's a place to meet other fair folk. I too live a long way from hollygrove and can only make the trip once or twice a year. :(  But it is nice to meet up with old friends ,if only once or twice a year. Hoping to get to Mid Mich ,just to help me get my fix.
