I went to the Reenactor Fest in Chicago last year, and it was enjoyable.  The best part, though was the Reenactor's Ball in the evening.  It was a DJ, not a band, but who noticed?  I saw a Spitfire pilot sitting out while all the Germans took over the floor for a dance.  There were lots of people from the 40's, military and civilian, and the women looked great.  There were Romans and Greeks, Yankees and Rebels, etc, all out on the floor together.  I even got a few compliments and questions about my Norse garb.  Not too common.  Then, the Show and Tell portion during the day, was awesome, where all the reenactors had a few minutes up on stage to explain who they were and show off their outfits in detail.  Y'gotta go!
