The mists are clearing and slowly the gates of Fairhaven are becoming clearer everyday. Opening day is Saturday, October 8th and Fairhaven will continue until that final Sunday on November 20th.

Once again this year there will be gathering during Pirate's Christmas weekend! All are invited! Sponsored by local friends of R/F and the Clan M'Crack look for us starting with the Meet-n-Greet on Friday, Nov 11th at The Galway Hooker Pub. Our country ham tailgate in the VIP Parking Lot on Saturday, Nov 12th is always a great start to the day. We'll break bread that night at the Brickhouse Tavern just down from the faire in Davidson. Sunday morning is breakfast in garb at the Acropolis and then off to opening cannon on Sunday morn.

We have a M'Crack rate at the local Microtel Hotel and are working on a group ticket list (saves a couple of bucks). If you're interested let us know.

This is usually the same weekend that the Rogues, Wenchs and Pirates are in port so if you can only come one weekend, make it Nov, 11, 12, & 13th.

Huzzah!

Argh - shamefully I think Ewan has been red-shirted for the entire CRF run.  Rotator cuff repair surgery just prior to opening weekend puts us in driving and financial waivers.  Hold the fort for us - we will see you anon.

Keep us posted, we can always find lodging with a cousin to cut the cost, and if he can't raise his arm Heal'n could start a Guinness IV for him. Heck with a large bore needle and a pressure bag we could pump a pint into him in no time.

Huzzah for innovative thinking.   Thanks Laird - we will keep ya posted

FYI: several of us will be breaking bread together this Saturday, 6:30pm at The Galway Hooker. We will be discussing this year's invasion. If you're in the area stop by and say hi. Many hands make light work and new ideas are always welcomed.

The local members of R/F spoke with management at The Galway Hooker in Cornelius, NC and we are good for a invasion weekend Friday night Meet-n-Greet. We'll be starting about 630 to 700pm and be there for a good bit of the night. We have part of the patio reserved (for the smokers) and several tables inside as well. There menu is great and they pour an excellent pint of Guinness. If you are going to be there, and all are welcomed, please let us know so we can get the Hooker better number to plan wait staff and kegs. There will also be live music at the pub that night.

The Galway Hooker Pub is only 3 miles from the official invasion hotel (Microtel in Cornelius) and less than that from the other hotels on Rt 73 just off Interstate 77. A excellent location with lots of free parking and good friends.

Hope to see everyone there on Friday night!

tOne more weekend completed and a step closer to invasion weekend!

The group ticket list has been closed and an order will be placed for 89 tickets! This is going to be a great weekend.

Don't forget there is a tailgate in the VIP lot the morning of Saturday, November, 12th! We have the country ham, biscuits, coffee, and a few other things. Additional food contributions are welcome, we have a lot of people coming from out of town and could always use another bagel or two. I'll be in the parking lot at 0830am, look for the Irish flag and a whole bunch of people in garb.

PLEASE remember that the State of North Carolina has very strict ABC laws. By law we should not be drinking in the parking lot. Please be very careful in your actions so as to not call attention to your beverage.

Hope to see everyone Friday night at The Galway Hooker and all day on Saturday in Fairhaven. Sunday is atravel day for many but for the lucky ones we'll be back in the morning! Remember your clerical garb if you have any for Sunday services with Hey Nunnie Nunnie!

Group ticket request has been acknowledged by the CRF office. If you have ordered a group ticket (through Jim, Dawn or myself) for this upcoming weekend, please come by the Saturday morning tailgate in the VIP Parking Lot. Also, a check to pay for the tickets would be very nice as I will not have change avialable.

In case you were wondering, we have ordered over $1,500 in tickets just for our group! Should be a good weekend.

Latest Weather Report for Fairaven:

Saturday is still looking like mostly sunny with a high in the low 60's.

Sunday is still looking like mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 60's.

That means many will want cloaks in the morning  and in the evening hours. Mid day shuold be fine.

Heads up People!

Due to the large crowd from Davidson College's homecoming events, this Saturday's dinner gathering has been moved from the Brick house Tavern to The Galway Hooker.

The Wild Highlander aka High'n is working with the Galway Hooker management and they are aware we are coming. BUT a word to the wise, the Galway Hooker is a very popular pub, it may get crowded but they are working with us so bring it on!

Just in case this is your first time: Saturday night is a relaxing night, some may be in garb, but I know many of the ladies will slip by their rooms and wear mundanes to dinner. Gentlemen in kilts are always welcome!

Don't forget we will be doing Sunday BIG (Breakfast in Garb) at the Acropolis. Great food, lots of it at a really cheap price. We'll have breakfast and then make our way to the gates of Fairhaven. Join us at breakfast or join us at Fairhaven (many of us make our annual visit on Sunday morning to Hey Nunnie Nunnie!). just join us!
