Opening Weekend...

"I know many of you are planning on going to TRF on Thursday. You might be interested in this: I JUST spoke to the TRF office over the phone and they have confirmed that the campground will NOT be open until NOON ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 7th. So they are NOT going to be letting anyone in on Thursday afternoon, I would suggest you adjust your plans accordingly. (Remember, there are a lot of rule changes taking effect this season, and they are DEFINITELY going to be enforcing them much more closely than they have in the past."

Just a heads up...I know they say this every year but its still something to keep in mind and to have an alternative plan if they won't let people in on Thursday...

Dang, I was planning to get there about 9AM friday (09 Hundred for you military types).  I wonder how long they will let the line get before they let us in.

Hours: The campground is open from 10:00 AM on Friday until 9:00 AM on Monday. The campgrounds will also be open on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving) at 10:00 AM.

In other words....for those of you camping opening weekend and hoping to get in on Thursday let us know if you can/do get in.  I may have to adjust my schedule if we can't get in on Thursday.

As I understand it, it only takes one state trooper to witness the line down the highway to get the gate opened.
However, they could immediately close it again once the line is off of 1774.

Hmmm... that could be arranged... would it matter if they were bikers? LOL

The advertised opening is Friday at 10 am, but we normaly open the gate Thursday to keep traffic off of 1774.  If one person is in line the gate opens at noon.  If we advertise noon on Thursday you would arrive on Wednesday
