Hi Charlotte,

Just curious what are some of the dances Terpsichory does?  A few of us from the court down at Bristol are thinking of making a visit to Minnesota in a few weeks and would love to participate in a few dances with you guys.  Thanks!

Charlotte Rowan

Saphire, it was fun seeing you! I wanted to take some pics of you dancing with us but unfortunately it is hard to take pictures and play flute at the same time. :) Hope you had fun.

Mlle D, that'd be fun!! Let's see, the dances we do are Rufty Tufty, Prendente in Giro, Return of Spring, Dargason, Heralds in Love, Heart's Ease, Bella Goiosa, La Castellana, Contrepasso, Siege of Carrick, Fairy Reel, Gathering Peascods, Official Bransle, Amoroso, Hole in the Wall, Circle Waltz, Nonesuch, Bare Necessities and probably a few I am forgetting. :) I've heard nothing but good things about Bristol's courtly dance, and I'm sure our dancers would love for you to do a few dances with us!

Okay great Charlotte!  Of those dances we know the Rufty, Dargason, Bella Goiosa, La Castellana, Contrepasso, and the Gathering Peascods.  We also do other ones like the Spagnoletta, So Ben Mi Chi a Buon Tempo, Pavane, and a few other country dances so it should be fun!  If you see anyone dressed like what I look like in my avatar feel free to say hi!

I'll keep a look out for any changes to Terpsichory's schedule, I think we're tentatively looking at 9/24 for our visit.  I'll also pass the info. on to the others so they know too!  Thanks again!

Charlotte- there was also that Zombie thing that I got to dance. What was that called anyways?
Bubbles are pure magic... if you don't believe me watch any man, woman, or child chase a bubble down the road.

Haha Zombie Piva-- that is Amoroso. And yes, Spagnoletta, we do that too. We'll keep an eye out for you, Mlle D, and I'll make sure to post any changes to the schedule here. :) It might change a bit because the parade is moving back to 11:30. :P

That's one of my favorite songs to play. :) We haven't done it as much this year as in the past because we've been doing so much teaching, and also since we're on the move and not on a stage, we don't usually have the djembe with us, and the other drums just don't work as well. :) But we'll totally perform it just for you this weekend if you like! :)

i'd love that!

hopefully i can make it for most of the dances....  same schedule right?

where is the morning dance exactly "8:50 AM -9:40 AM : Dance @ Front Gate" ?

seems like i look for it, miss it and somehow end up at the country dancing doing kerobushka (sp?) instead lol

Yup, same schedule this weekend. The morning dance is outside the front gate, usually near where the nuns have the costume contest. :)
