Worried about Transylvanians? They're the least of my worries when there is a certain pirate on the loose...*coughMOLDENcough*
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

Sir Martin

We are definately excited.  I have one question for you veterans though.  My wife and I are going as Greeks for Halloween.  I figure Renaissance women could have easily dressed as their ancestors for costume since they were aware of the look.  Either way, its Halloween.  So....My wife is going as a Greek Godess and I wanted to know if it is acceptable for her to carry an extremely blunted bronze javelin into fair.  It is really blunt!

Macintyre

they may still ask for covering of some time that can't be easily removed.  blunt or not, it's metal and can still do some damage.

 Nice picture! Your Wife is a beauty, Chris B

Thanks Bonnie.  Definately stop us,and say hi if any of you see us.  I am told that I come off as very intimidating by everyone who knows me, but I do like getting to know people so don't be afraid to stop us!  That look of I am ready for the cage door to close and throw down is my base line look I guess, but I am one of those people that is happy even though I do not smile from ear to ear.  I am a warrior soul, what can I say.  Doesn't mean I am not nice.  Look forward to meeting some of you finally this season.  I will look like one of the two following pics for Halloween so I should easily stand out from the crowd.....

Made hotel reservations yesterday for Highland Fling Weekend.  Hope to see yaz there.  ;D
There are many places where compromise is expected;
LOYALTY is not amongst them.

Chris B - you really need to be wearing those for The Roman Bacchanal (Italian) weekend and enter our costume contest.  Both of you.  Even though it is touted as Roman, the Romans got all thier fashion tips from the Greeks.

Chris - I believe Macintyre is correct ... if you have a metal weapon, they will probably require a leather covering over the edges.  It is a most impressive javelin, though, so you might want to make an accurate outline of it and take that to one of the leathersmith's inside TRF (Rev's Armour Werx comes to mind).  It might be possible to make a cover for it within short order.  Here is a link to his web site (his contact info is at the bottom).  You might be able to fax a drawing to him so he can have it ready before you get there.

Sir Martin, Thanks.  I will probably just leave it at home.  The thing that makes it impressive to me is that it is bronze and any sort of covering kills it.  I could make a tight form fitted leather cover myself, but it wouldn't be the same.  She'll be happy that it is one less thing to carry.  ;)

Tudor Diva.......Thanks.  We will be there Roman Bachannal weekend, but like this......  My ancestors were Roman so it feels "right" to wear the true Roman persona.

Macintyre

those are some kickin threads.  and feel free to stop me and say hi as well if you happen to see me.  my kilt is dark green  with thin red and white plad stripes on top and i carry a full sized calymore on a black back scabbard.
