Celtic Lady

My husband was very excited about Christmas this year. He couldn't wait for me to open my gifts... especially one of them.
He got me a drill, drill bits, screw driver bits, a toolbox, a ratchet screw driver set, a Kohl's gift card, 2 stuffed tuxedo cats. The last two gifts he could barely contain himself waiting for me to open. They were a crossbow and a set of arrows to go with it.
I can't wait to try them ALL out.

From my family, I received a gift card for the Olive Garden restaurant, several shirts, some dress slacks and socks, a guardian angel for my car, and some cash.

I'll find out what was sent to me as part of the MidWinter Gift Exchange (here on the RenFest Forum) when I get home and go to the Post Office on Tuesday.

Merlin the Elder

I got my son home for the holidays, the wool boot socks I've been wanting for 3 years, and an over/under shotgun (the latter from me to me). The most important, was having my son home. We don't do the gifts thing so much anymore. These days, it's all about family and friends. Today, I cooked for some of our faire traveling companions. Lovely day, but glad it's over... Started at 7am, and just finished at 11pm.

This year my family got presents for the kiddos not for the grown ups.

But my sweetheart got me a gift card to the book store so I can get some of the books I have been drooling over for ages.

...

A friend here in Houston mentioned yesterday that the local HalfPrice Books had the DVD sets of Connections 1 & 2 available used, and with an additional 20% Discount Sale going on.

So, I used some of my Christmas Cash, and bought the two sets of DVDs.  Those 10 DVDs, along with a 2012 Calendar came to a total of only $75.30. A Google Shopping search shows that Connections 1 & 2 would cost at least $180 to order online (if they're in stock).

I'm sitting here enjoying Episode 1 of Connections 1.
