What has gotten me going was joining a 'stash busters' group.  We have to report in how much we have done per week, and how much we have cleaned out of our stash & UFO's. I'm making it a game for myself.  For every yard of stash fabric I use up I get a gold star.  I loose stars for buying.  For ever UFO I finish I get done I get 5, and 10 if I complete a 'mother ship'- a UFO that has been around a year or more. Greater than 5 years I'm giving myself 15.  If I want anything I have to 'buy' it with stars. Good insentive to use up what I have on hand before I can buy more.

It worked so far. Last month I sewed up 10.125 yards. Of that 6.875 was stash, .75 was left overs, .75 was from what was bought. The rest was from a UFO project. I only bought 2.25 yards.  My goal is 10 yards from my stash in Febuary?
That means I have 5 stars I can use up. I'm thinking of saving those stars so I can pick out some yummy easter fabric for the Fuzzlet for her easter/spring dress. I really want to crank through some fabric  & UFO's because I want to get some nice stuff for the Fuzzlet's new dress for Halloween/ TRF. /bounce bounce

Besides, who doesnt' like getting a gold star.  ;D

My list is short this year.
1) I have material ready for two gowns for myself so I just need to get started on them.
2) I need to alter the girls' nobles for this season.
3) I need to make a new fairy bodice.
4) I want to make more fairy wings (I have two sets framed out, just need to finish them.)

These, for this time next year:

Ball gown:
Mine will be lilac and will re-use the lilac petticoat from the lilac caraco outfit, I hope.

Day gown:
I SHOULD have enough of the black wool satin from the black and white caraco outfit left, so can reuse THAT petticoat too.  If not, there's a roll of black velvet in the loft.

Sunday Best?
Lovely gown, and I love the use of the pearls on the lacing, but may go more for this look for the sleeve ruffles and collar:
I may need new stiff underwear as well...

Oh sewing goals.  They're so nice on paper, right?  'Cause there's always additions, especially after visiting the forums and getting so inspired by y'all!!

1.  18th Century Robe a l'Anglaise (from bottom up with underthings)
2.  New Cotehardie (two toned) to go with the sideless.
3.  Regency something
4.  Middle Class garb of some sort.  Still in research stages.
5.  Steampunk!  Edwardian inspired type of ensemble with hot pink ribbon corset.
6.  60s dress for Bro's graduation
7.  New Civil War stuff (Blouse for existing skirt, bonnet, redo of the ballgown bodice)

And something that uses up the 4.5yrds of wide burgundy taffeta...

For the past few years I have been yearning to get to Pennsic, it is a 2 week party in Pennsylvania, and it seems life had conspired for me not to make it, soon I will have my plane ticket (argh I have to actually pay for it, it was so much easier when I flew for free LOL), and then I need clothing for PA in August (whine)

Pennsic Garb

:DElizabethan :D
3 New Smocks
3 Linen Kirtles
3 Coifs
3 Hats
Gabardine
Dutch Cloak

:D Florentine :D
2 Camicias
2 Gamurra in Linen
2 Aprons

Because I might need these-
1 Roman
1 Grecian
1 14th Century Gown.

Yeah, I know kind of an entirely new wardrobe but it is okay since I made a couple of these already!  Yea Me! I need to find a golden linen for one of the kirtles!!!

I hope that you get to go! I've been twice now and LOVED it! I have to say that my favorite part is all of the A&S classes to choose from. I wear mostly 16th c. Florentine but for the really hot and/or lazy days I go further back in time and wear Roman. Before next year (don't think I can swing it financially this year) I want to make a Turkish ensemble. I am part of the Barony of Andelcrag and we host a very popular Hafla- make sure you attend if you get the chance.

How wide is that burgundy taffeta?  You might get you Anglaise out of it if it's 60", especially if you go for a contrast petticoat.

I looked back at last year's thread and saw that, even though it only had two things on it, neither of them got done last year. Some major life changes put a halt to my sewing- My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter moved in Nov. 2010 then Hubby and I bought a new house last July and are renting our old house to them. Now that we are settled in our new home, I have gotten back to sewing. :)

The 2012 List:
The Venetian gown I had on my list turned into the Florentine gown that I just made and posted to the finished projects thread.
I will be re-starting the green wool gown using the newly learned bodice stiffening technique.
I want to make another Florentine gown in the same fabric but aqua and gold instead of red and gold (but this one *might* end up Venetian after all!)
Make a smocked linen camecia/smock.
Make a blackwork embroidered linen camecia/smock
Make a "fancy" silk giorgiera/partlet
Make an embroidered Saccoccia/tie on pocket
Make 16th c. Slavic (maybe Polish?) garb for hubby

ETA- Hubby told me that we CAN go to Pennsic so I need to add:
Turkish ensemble for me
4 smocks min. for daughter
2 dresses min. for daughter

Non- Ren:
late Victorian ball gown
Steampunk accessories

Sealion:  LOVE your florentine stuff.  Can't wait to see more.

And I believe the taffeta is at least 60".  It's one those jumbo, upholstery rolls (that I knocked into everything in the store) and I do want a contrasting petticoat in white (a really pretty, delicate white).  I think it'll either be the Anglaise or the Regency with 18th century stays out of the rest.

Seems my list very rarely changes. How daunting.
For my wife: new kirtle, probably a new corset to match, new skirts, a better flowing/fitting chemise, flat cap.
For Amara: a doublet gown, new chemise, new bodice for warm weather faires.
For Tristan: new kilt, new jerkin, attempt to do slashed slops to match doublet.
For me: whatever I can find time for, after above projects. Left over from last two years: new doublet, new pants, hat. I'd love to try my hand at gloves (no pun intended), but its pretty much bottome of the priority list.
Both kids have also asked for sword belts and scabbards for their wooden swords (nothing is more adorable than the frustrated pout of a 2 1/2 year old who can't figure out why his sword doesn't stick to his side) and I have begun a design for a shield for Tristan, but that'll probably be better for when he's a bit older. And, yes, for the next couple years, the swords will stay home when we go out, until the kidlets can be trusted not to attack anyone, especially each other.

And to top it all off ( I am trying to decide if it'll be the inspiration to get started early and in an organized fashion, or an exercise in frustration that'll make it all take longer) teach Amara to sew.
Well, 3 months in, and I've gotten started at least. Amara's gown and chemise are pretty much finished. The gown could use some detachable sleeves and a matching underskirt though. I've got a new chemise nearly done for my wife, but I'm not happy with the fit. I keep having issues with sleeve lengths being just a tad too short. I think its how I have been doing the cuffs and drawstring channels. I'll probably scrap it, and recycle the fabric for kids' stuff. But, progress is being made.

Add some lace to the sleeves! I've done that before. It looked cute.

Hoowil, If I could show you the scrapped sleeves piled up in my fabric box you would laugh out loud. Even after all these years the first try on a new design can result in too short or not wide enough sleeves.

Goal one accomplished; sage green velvet court gown with brick red underskirt and sleeves.

#2 in progress, fix bodice fit on gold brocade and make new sleeves for it.

#3 fix turn backs on brown Tudor, probably also reducing length thereof.

#4 embroider and assemble his lordship's new cotton/silk blend shirt.

We'll see after that when I have time for a trip through the fabric bins.

With me getting sick in Febuary I didn't get much sew out the door, only 3-4 yards, granted part of it was the fuzzlet's new garb pieces, and a niece's birthday dress.  I did get 4.5 yards out of the stash just last Saturday. I was very proud of myself.  However i was bad in that I bought 2.5 yards of flannel to make me some cool weather bloomers, .5 of flannel for my daughter to have some as well.  Then 1 yard of white flannel to make me a cold weather partlet.  Yes I know it is suppose to be light weight cotton or silk, but I did not like how cold I got at Sherwood opening weekend ::pout::

On my cutting table right now is a new garb outfit for the fuzzlet to wear in May for Scarby.  If her dada won't wear his heavy pirate coat in 90+ heat I'm NOT putting the fuzzlet in it.  She will be my little baby sewing fairy  ;D It's made from all kinds of left over fabric from other projects.

I have one project ready to be made, but gosh darn it I need hook and loop tape.  Not velcro, but hook and loops, like what you would use in the back of long backed bra. None of the stores around here have it.  :-\
