Experience the 9th Annual Mayfaire Renaissance Festival, Opening May 19
Find all-day family fun, laughter, shopping, music and revelry close to home at the 9th Annual Mayfaire Renaissance Festival, in beautiful Marshall, MI.

As you walk into the wooded grove of the Mayfaire Renaissance Festival site, you step back in time – for the time of your life! And this "time machine" is conveniently located at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds, with free parking. While strolling through the lanes you'll encounter costumed characters ranging from pirates and Vikings to jesters and fools. Mingle with richly costumed lords and ladies or match wits with wacky wenches.

Be a part of this unique experience as history, legend and fantasy come to life with period encampments, educational displays, live steel sword fighting, archery, belly dancing, storytelling and the finest in improvisational street theatre. (Yes, they make some of it up as they go along!) Your toes will tap and you might even dance a jig or two when you get an earful of the lively music.
The Mayfaire Renaissance Festival in Marshall, MI runs for two full weekends plus Memorial Day: May 19-20 & May 26 -28, 2012.  Event hours are 10am - 6pm (Open Rain or Shine!) Ticket prices for this fun family event are $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Children ages 6-12, and admission is Free for Children ages 5 and under.

Take your time and browse through the colorful offerings from unique artisans and craft vendors at the Mayfaire Marketplace. It's a treasure-trove of one-of-a-kind merchandise, including jewelry, pottery, toys, gifts, period clothing and accoutrements. Famished from all that shopping? There's plenty to tempt your taste buds from the village kitchens along with cool, non-alcoholic drinks or specialty coffee beverages to wet your whistle.

The entire family will enjoy a stroll on the shady paths between the main stage acts...but keep a sharp eye out for the OGRE! Everyone is encouraged to dress up in period costume to become a part of the atmosphere of a pre-1600 village. Kids of all ages love coming to the festival dressed as a knight in shining armor, a dashing pirate or a princess. And no visit to the enchanting realm of Marshallmoor would be complete without a royal audience with the Queen.

The 9th annual Mayfaire Renaissance Festival is an unforgettable all-day entertainment experience, at a reasonable price. A global experience in a local venue! The Calhoun County Fairgrounds is located at 720 Fair Street in Marshall, MI 49068.

I was there yesterday (the 27th) and had a great time. It was a fun faire and I'm already planning on attending again next year!
