Earl of Surrey

Looks like the news is starting to take notice.

Reminds me how excited other folks are for our opening.  That's kind of a shot in the arm, particularly after some cold, wet, and quiet rehearsal days.  I get rev'd up when I see this.  Gonna be a great show!

The Gazette in the Springs also has a story planned for opening weekend, and online photo galleries from every weekend are also in the works.

Well, I do have a complaint about the show already. We were setting up our booth and broke for lunch. I drove to the little corner deli at the 3-way stop, got lunch and water, and got back to the booth. We were sitting at a table under a lovely shade tree... AND A BIRD POOPED ON MY HEAD!! Is that an inauspicious start to the faire for me or what?

On a serious note- we're all set up and mostly ready to go. We have some holes in our stock from Scarbourough last weekend... but that's a good problem to have! Can't wait for next weekend! Woo hoo!

And everyone who is coming should be sure to be there by about 9:30 for the new gate show.  It's very entertaining and the folks have been working really hard on it.  Certainly worth being there on time.

Very excited about opening day.  Does anyone have anything they can suggest to sweep away the 4.5 days between now and then?  Darn inconvenient things, these weekdays.

No I was not. I was planning to attend, but we were so busy that I couldn't take the time off from production. We did a lot more in sales than anticipated- we're still behind on stock as a result! It's a good problem to have... but makes for long days. We're still not fully stocked on weapons carriers for Colorado, and won't be until next weekend! Maybe next year we can plan a little more accurately so I actually can attend Scarby. I'd love to go to a faire other than my home faire. Never have been to another.

How was opening weekend?  I was not able to attend as I wished to due to finances being very absent at the worst time.

Opening cannon was loud, the cheers were even louder! There were two new knights in the joust representing Ireland and Wales, new minstrels about the grounds, and if it were even possible, Wilsome's fireballs burned brighter and flew farther than ever before seen in the realm.

There were FAE of all flavors, lords and ladies from afar dressed in their finest, and magisters to astound the children. The members of the royal court greeted all who entered the kingdom with grand smiles, kind words, and firm embraces.

The weather gods behaved to a point, making it all in all a grand weekend...  ;D

No no- I work for him! I make his stuff. I make Ren Leather's stuff. I do my own stuff on the side. He is also kind enough to let me use his facilities on my off time.

Got to attend fair today with my Dad and company.   Was nice bumping into some of you there!   I apologize if I seemed to be in some what of a dim mood. Just been one of those years so far.   I was lamenting how empty the lanes seemed today. Without the usual large street cast, the lanes felt ghostly compared to last year and along with the slightly low patron attendance, and people leaving early.

Hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Fathers Day.

And we're in for again this Sunday...

"Sunday:  Sunny, windy and hot once again.  Morning lows are forecast to be from 63 to 67 degrees, afternoon highs from 93 to 97 degrees."

Guess when I'm attending next... Good gods... :(

Radu the Gypsy

Huh.  I'll have to stop off on my time off from the cat show and see the new stuff.  I use to work for terry, about 6 years worth.  We didnt exactly part on good terms, but the man is an artist and he makes and designs great product.  I take it you work the booth doing sales too?

Nope- I'm an artisan. I make his stuff for him. And I can see where you may have parted on bad terms- he's an interesting character. Luckily for both he and I, I am too, and we somehow manage to get along!  ;D
