When my friend's  Neapolitan  mastiff died many years ago, I received a box in the mail as a surprise.  In it were all of Lupi's costumes.  There was a wizard, a stegosaurus, a sheep, and several others.  At that time, we had Magic Sioux, the dalmatian/lab mix, Dusty Ravioli, the collie, and Cedar Chester, our red golden retriever (he is still alive, the other 2 both lived until 1 month shy of their 15th birthdays).

At first when I tried them on, the dogs tried to take the costumes off.  But we made such a fuss over how beautiful they looked, that they ended up loving wearing the costumes (inside, not outside).  Whenever I opened the closet door for anything, I had 3 dogs pushing each other out of the way to be the first to have a costume put on.

I only have this one picture of Cody in his wizard costume.

But one year for the local Halloween parade, Magic wore the stegosaurus costume, and I wore a big sign hanging around my neck printed with "Jurassic Bark."  Our picture made the local newspaper!

Lady Renee--I got a little teary-eyed for a minute there! What a cool wizard--and the Jurassic Bark...very funny! Good idea for training a dog to like costumes--shower them with praise lol!

Isn't it grand we can share our lives or I should say? The animals share their lives with us? I do not wish to be normal, sounds like they have lost the
fun of being human in my opinion, my Pit mix shows me how to be silly everyday, to not take myself so seriously (which you all know I tend to do!) so I am humbled that our animals deal with me and my crazy.
